This six-piece unit is based in Austin, Texas and each member brings his or her own identity to the recordings. The group features Alex Coke on flute & saxophone, Carl Michel on guitar, Elaine Barber on concert harp, Bob Hoffnar on pedal steel guitar, James Suter on acoustic bass and Carolyn Trowbridge on vibraphone. Together, these six musicians have created a ‘Situation’ that is wildly inventive thanks to the group’s genuine approach.

Track four, “Suikinkutsu 3”, contains exotic vibes that will peak your interests and spark your curiosity in a major way. Prepare to take a dive into a wondrous place on the following number, “Introduction to the Aquarium”, where the listener will want to soak up every bit of this enriching composition. Alex Coke & Carl Michel Sextet is swimming along gracefully into the next track titled “Aquarium”. This number is bubbling with excitement all playing to the beat of an aquatic adventure on “Aquarium”. The title track is up next and proves to be the right “Situation” for listeners worldwide with perfect instrumentation & masterful orchestration. “Situation” provides a delightful melody with intricate layers & dimensions throughout. An elegant touch and pristine delivery by Alex Coke & Carl Michel Sextet will draw listeners in on “221”.
