As the 2023 International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) 2023 Storyteller Award winner, I decided to write a song about a real life storyteller legend Bo Stottlemyer. Bo has been writing songs and telling stories for over 50 years. Ask any old timer in Nashville who writes the best storytelling songs and surely Bo’s name will come up.
So this song is written in the old time true storytellers vein, mixed with a laidback country rock vibe. The Storyteller was released on December 11 and is available on all platforms. The Storyteller will also be included on my next album due out in early 2024.
