BACHELOR – Jay Som & Palehound Launch New Project via Lucky Number Music // Hear Debut Single ‘Anything At All’

Critically acclaimed, indie-rock powerhouses Jay Som (Melina Duterte) and Palehound (Ellen Kempner) have joined forces to form a new project called Bachelor. Today, they release their debut single “Anything At All”, out now via Lucky Number.

The two musicians came together in pre-quarantine 2020, recording in California during what was then a rare break from touring. Written, performed, and produced entirely by the pair, the new single starts with a heavy, funky bass line followed by a chorus so playful it could be a schoolyard taunt.

Luke Gomm ‘Red Flashing Lights’

Featuring Darryl Dodoo (Rex Orange County) on bass guitar and with drums created on the classic Roland 909, the new track is an up-tempo and playful track about pushing limits. The title and chorus ‘Red Flashing Lights’ represent the exciting feeling of knowingly defying a warning sign and doing it anyway.

FVZ – On My Way is Officially Out on All Streaming platforms!

The most challenging aspect of the process was dealing with COVID-19 related lockdowns while working on the vocals and the lyrics of the song. I am very much used to being in the same room with my fellow songwriters and bouncing ideas around. Siera and I collaborated over phone calls and emails, reading and editing each other’s versions of the song until we were both happy with it.

Ready for broadcast… Introducing Whiskey in the Jar from singer, songwriter and surgeon John Cullimore

Wiltshire-based singer songwriter John Cullimore grew up in Liverpool in the 1960’s, in the heart of the ‘Merseybeat’ sound, which became synonymous with the Beatles, the Searchers, Gerry and the Pacemakers and many others. Steeped in this early new wave of exciting ‘pop’ music, it was a natural step for John to begin to write his own: beginning at the tender age of 13 and continuing to compose and produce his own original music and musical covers today, fitting this around his career as a Surgeon.

CULTED Streams New Album in Full via Exclaim!

The band has offered this statement on the new record:
“After years of repeated personal and psychological trauma, Nous was the response. It was created after extended periods of self-imposed isolation and psychic exorcism. Ritual fires of mind destroyed the burden of our collective past. From those ashes a new beginning was possible. In that beginning there was nothing, just existential nihilism. But from that nothing, Culted explored all facets of human endeavours. Nothing was out of bounds, nothing was sacred; the religious, the philosophical, the metaphysical, all were fodder for exploration and contemplation. Culted embraced the results of those explorations and Nous is their interpretation using sound. Unlike previous efforts, Nous traded the epic and thematic soundtrack-like delivery of the past and instead opted for a more ‘rock’ oriented approach. Songs could be identified and enjoyed individually, while the album as a whole still retains a cohesive core that flows throughout. What remains is total, sonic annihilation.”

L.A. Exes Release Debut Song “Temporary Goodbye”

“‘Temporary Goodbye’ is about that feeling you get when the world is stomping on you, and you just want to hit the eject button so you can catch your breath. In a way, starting the band felt like an act of escapism in itself. Even though music is inherently fun, sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of that fact when it’s also your job. From day one, writing these songs has always been about having a blast.” – L.A. Exes

AFI announces new album ‘Bodies,’ shares two tracks & video

“‘Looking Tragic’ addresses the theme of overstimulation resulting in desensitization,” says frontman Davey Havok. “Melodic and driving, the song came to life quickly and immediately stood out as a track to make bodies, if not sentiments, move.”

“After years of receiving early versions of songs from Jade and Davey, in forms that span loosely arranged chords and scratch vocal to fully realized demos, I think I have become quite adept at knowing which songs will or will not make the record,” adds drummer Adam Carson. “‘Begging For Trouble’ was green lit, at least in my mind, the moment I heard the vocals come in. To me, the track is a cornerstone of the new record.”

THE BLIPS PREMIERE NEW MUSIC VIDEO FROM THEIR NEW SELF-TITLED LP OUT APRIL 9TH

What happens when five frontmen form a band? Probably disaster. Or, possibly, collaborative beauty. In the case of Birmingham, Alabama’s The Blips, it’s the latter.

The group formed after Will Stewart – an accomplished songwriter and guitar player who has released several acclaimed records under his own name and with the Birmingham-based group Timber – sent a few curious text messages inviting a group of friends and collaborators to convene and write some tunes together. That group included: Taylor Hollingsworth, Wes McDonald, Eric Wallace, and Chris McCauley.

Faiyaz and The Wasted Chances – Dead Animals

I wrote “Dead Animals” after a string of failed relationships, before the world went to shit. The day after a show, I’m hungover and biking to the rehearsal space, and I see a dead squirrel along the path. I was feeling a lot of regret and pain around the past, racial injustices, and COVID, and turned that anger into the riff. It felt like I was yelling to my exes and bigots that they’ve never heard or felt real love. It just felt real visceral being able to get it out.

Our relationship was so toxic and I knew I needed to walk away, but he made me feel something I had never felt before.
