  • Fill in the gaps that other researchers have left
  • Answer your questions from your finding

To put it simply, the process of research is systematically answering questions.

  • Have valuable and unique research topic

The first step of the process is asking a specific question. A good topic includes a few attributes: Clear, Unique, and Important.

Clear. It means your topic should be very clear on the purpose of our research.

Unique. The questions that your research is asking should be questions never asked before.

Once you have gotten a good quality research topic, the next thing to do is convince your colleagues to let you go ahead with the research. Before you move forward with your research, you need to be approved to move forward with the research. It is where the research proposal comes in handy. The proposal’s job is to convince your school, committee, or advisor that your research topic is worthy. To make this happen, ensure that your topic is good. At this stage, adequate research on the topic is unnecessary, but it is essential to show that you have a grasp of the topic you are about to write on.

The introduction chapter sets the scene for your research. This chapter helps the reader understand what the researcher is researching on, and also it’s importance. It works like a proposal in that it justifies the topic of research. The introduction chapter includes a brief background, a problem statement, research questions, and the study’s significance.

  • Do an in-depth literature review.

When you are writing a proposal, you will do some literature review but not in-depth. In the literature review stage for your thesis, you will need to research existing literature and write a chapter on it. This stage includes: Reading up and Writing Up,
