Disconnection has never felt so beautiful until this point, where Mai Kino’s exceptional new song, Talk produced by Mai Kino, Nui Blanc and Duncan Mills (Florence and the Machine, Lissie) speaks up about our dissociation, numbness & loneliness in the world around us. She uses haunting production as a paintbrush to tell a story that we can all relate to at junctions of our life. The song also comes with a brilliantly unique video that uses biodegradable materials to further explore the importance of finding our connectivity point for the greater good.
Mai Kino explains how Talk came to life “I wrote Talk over a year ago, in my bed, in the middle of the night. I was going through a rough period of numbness and creative block….I felt alienated and disconnected from myself and the world around me. I remember having spent several days trying to write music and nothing came out… Then one night, as I slipped into sleep, a song started playing in my head. I jumped out of bed, played it on the piano and recorded it on my phone. The chords and the vocal melody came first, then the word “Fall”.
