Why Countries Ban Vape

If you travel outside of the country with your vape, you may quickly realize that vaping juices like space jam juice is not allowed in many countries.  Around the world, vaping equals smoking, and is treated as such.  However, there are a few more nuances to the law than that, most of which primarily deal with nicotine.  Most of the outlawed countries have at least a ban from minors in place, if not more.  Some countries are stricter than others though.   Here are the reasons why countries ban vaping.

Currently, around 2/3rd of all major countries have some sort of ruling on the topic of vaping.  Many of these countries focus on regulation versus outright bans.   Most of these countries have the jury out to which way the should go due to the relationship with other tobacco products.  The primary reason for this comparison is the nicotine available in vaping.  Science has shown the dangers of this drug and many countries follow suit with it.

Countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, and Singapore have outright banned e-cigarettes in any form.  This is due to their harsh policy on all tobacco and nicotine products.  These countries focus on the inherent danger of using the nicotine and the detriment to health that comes with it.  Within the borders, smoking or vaping is forbidden in any public area, including streets, beaches, public parks, etc.  The sales of such products are also heavily regulated and may not even be available.

Many countries that do not have a ban have some extreme regulations to mild.  Even the United States has a ban for sales to minors, which the UK has adopted.  Most of the rest of Europe are working on requiring a standard for vaping.  This would require producers to disclose ingredients, make child proofing packages, and tamper proof for liquids.  These areas also generally have a ban on smoking or vaping in public places like restaurants, bars, etc.

The last major reason you may see a ban in countries is due to their classification.  Many e-cigarettes have been labelled as a drug delivery system.  This means that they are banned until clinical trials can prove that they are not harmful.  While some countries may allow for sales of vape products, they are not allowed to advertise them.  Other countries may also label them as health products for smoking cessation.  In the same light, they are not allowed to advertise these products without extensive testing to assure their safety.

At some point in the future, vaping may be more practical and legal in several countries.  In the modern world, approving anything without miles of red tape can be a daunting task.  For now, if you are going out of town and across the border, make sure to do your research on where you go.  Most countries do allow vaping within their borders to some extent, but you may not be able to buy any product there.  Some countries are very strict though, and your best bet will be to do it in your own quarters.
