If Phil Collins ever made the jump into a mash of country, blues, and Americana vibes, he would sound just like James Lee Baker and his song Cowtown Blues. His vocals are strong, clear, and persistent. The lyrics keep up the playful mood of the melody. The harmonica is like Baker’s own back-up singer: You definitely can hear it but it doesn’t detract from Baker’s voice. The percussion and guitar are both fairly simple in their attacks and strums but it works perfectly for the very casual, take a seat on the front porch with chilled freshly squeezed lemonade, tune.
