StoneRider isn’t just another Rock band! The diversity of styles between the band members delivers a classic rock sound that takes you back to the 60’s and 70’s in a variety of unpredictable ways. With their release of ‘Fountains Left to Wake’ in 2012, the band found their audience. Almost the entire album was recorded live and their raw sound with whispers of The Doors, Free, Hendrix and The Beatles, who influenced the album, got their fans rocking. Fellow Atlanta musician Suzanne Sledge (of the band 68-75) says ” In my opinion, StoneRider is the ONLY band out of ATL getting it right. Every album is better than the last one and they’re incredible songwriters. They always take you on a journey with every performance!”
In the spring of 2015 they are releasing their new album. I can’t wait to see where this band is going now.
Matt Tanner – Lead Guitar
Adam McIntyre – Bass
Jason Krutzky – Drums
Noah Pine – magic keys
How did the band get together?
Well, one way to explain it is that Matt & Jason began playing music together quite awhile ago, maybe 10-12 years or so. Adam came into the group around 2011, first as a producer & collaborator, and then as a full time member in 2012, and Noah came to us at the beginning of 2014. Another way to explain it is by saying that the universe brought the whole thing together, and it couldnʼt have happened any other way for any of us.
When did you start playing/performing?
Playing and performing go hand in hand for us, so as long as weʼve been playing together, weʼve been performing together. Additionally, we were all playing and performing before we met each other.
How do you classify your music?
Our music is a tight blend of our individual styles. Weʼre influenced by many aspects of life, and we try to distill those influences down into a sonic experience that can be enjoyed by all. Weʼre willing to go wherever our muse takes us, and we always want to follow the groove.
Who were your early influences and tell me about your music journey.
Our journey has been an exciting one, filled with many opportunities and many trials. We all come from different backgrounds, different upbringings, but weʼve all been blessed with a particular set of talents, and weʼve sought to use those talents to their fullest extents. Our journey has been guided by all of the great masters that came before us, and we are always looking back to them as we push ahead.
Who writes your songs?
We do.

Tell me about your CD’s and touring.
Currently, we have one CD available. Itʼs called ʻFountains Left To Wakeʼ and it was released in 2012. The last bit of touring that we did took place throughout Europe towards the end of 2012. It was in support of ʻFountains.ʼ
Are there any new projects in the works?
Since the release of ʻFountainsʼ we’ve added Noah to the group, and written and recorded a new album. We plan to release, and tour on, this new album in the Spring of 2015.
What do you want fans to get from your music?
Music is tricky in the sense that it can impact you in so many different ways. For some, it can express the way they see the world. It speaks to them in a way that absolutely nothing else does. It can be an embrace, and it can be an escape. Music is a wizard. Itʼs magic. It can build diverse communities, by bringing people from all walks of life together. Itʼs one of the great communicators, and it yields a staggering amount of power. It can seduce you, leave you spell bound, and it can tear your heart out. It can challenge you, surprise you, excite you, entice you, and suspend your belief enough to make time stand still. Itʼs limitless in itʼs potential, and as itʼs channels, we all are, too.
What would you like to be doing 5 years from now?
Following the muse, wherever she takes us, near or far.
