Kin Cayo began as a project of South Florida-born, Los Angeles-based musician Blake Hanley, now fleshed out by band members John Graney, Enrique Lara and Mike Torres. Kin Cayo recently brought their dynamic Calypso-tinged indie rock, equally inspired by The Clash and Paul Simon, to a two-month weekly residency at Little Joy in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and have played several shows at Community. “Our Ship” is the first official release from Kin Cayo, which roughly translates to “family of small islands.”
