Hillary Capps, a native Vermont singer and songwriter now based in New York City, is set to release her first full-length album entitled The Wishing Forest on January 21, 2014. Earlier this year, Capps released a single off the new album entitled “New Melody”. Arena.com praised the single, saying “‘New Melody’ sees Capps diving into contemporary pop, and the results are pretty fantastic.”
With strong female influences such as Sara Bareilles and Adele, Capps’ pop-oriented music encompasses subtle jazz phrasings and catchy melodies that display mature songwriting
and tight musicianship in this promising young artist. Capps’ upcoming album was produced by guitarist and songwriter Anthony Farina (City Escape Me Productions), recorded at Vinegar Hill Sound in Brooklyn, NY by Reed Black (Saves the Day), and mixed at Electric Lady Studios, NY by the accomplished Michael Brauer whose credits include the likes of The Rolling Stones and Coldplay.
