Composed of French-born Brit Samantha Stephenson and ex-Deep Wound punkster Scott Helland, the pair evoke a tribalistic miasma of ancient sounds as interpreted by a female Gordon Gano. On their fourth release, Happy Madness, Stephenson and Helland are at their songwriting peak, offering up a dozen leering come-ons and sultry kiss-offs about Magic, Making Out, and Marionettes.
