PITBULL CANCELS PHOENIX SHOW AS A PROTEST OF THE NEW IMMIGRATION LAW

Pitbull announced that he has canceled his May 31st show in Phoenix, Arizona in protest of the state’s controversial immigration law.   Shakira recently went to Phoenix to talk to legislators about the law and Cypress Hill canceled a show in Tucson last week.   Arizona’s controversial SB1070 legislation states that officials and agencies on the state and local levels can make “a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person” if they come into contact with someone they have “reasonable suspicion” to believe is an illegal alien. Pitbull will kick off his Mr. Worldwide Carnival Tour tomorrow night in Denver.

PITBULL’S TWEET:   “I am canceling my concert in Phoenix on May 31. How is the country we enjoy and love bcuz of its human rights, freedom, opportunity and that has been built by immigrants, now start 2 deny them? It is contradicting 2 everything the USA stands 4.”

A VIOLINIST DOES GAGA

People becoming Internet stars for covering Lady Gaga songs seems to be almost commonplace these days.   First it was sixth grader Greyson Michael Chance singing and playing piano to “Paparazzi,” and now, there is another video online.   This time it’s a young man named Paul Dateh playing all the different parts to “Telephone” on violin, and singing too.   He also manages to add elements of Ke$ha’s “Blah Blah Blah,” Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and Usher’s “OMG,” and then puts them all together in an unbelievable mash-up.   Check it out on YouTube now.
