SHAKIRA ANNOUNCES WORLD TOUR
Shakira has announced her 2010 global tour and her return to North America. The summer tour will visit New York’s Madison Square Garden on September 21st, Houston’s Toyota Center on October 8th, and the Staples Center in Los Angeles on October 23rd. Tickets for Shakira’s trek go on sale in select markets beginning Sunday at LiveNation.com. To ensure affordability for all of her fans, Shakira is offering a limited quantity of tickets priced at under ten dollars in select markets. More dates will be announced soon.
Orianthi will join Adam Lambert on his Glam Nation Tour, starting on June 4th in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. The singer and guitarist recently released her new Howard Benson-produced single, “Shut Up & Kiss Me,” which is the follow-up to her platinum selling breakthrough hit, “According to You.” The 25-year-old has also been logging studio time recently, working on new music. JERSEY SHORE SOUNDTRACK
It’s time to pump your fist! MTV and Universal Republic Records will give music fans the ultimate summer playlist when the Jersey Shore soundtrack is released on July 20th. The soundtrack features Akon, LMFAO, Taio Cruz, Lil Jon and the lead single is “I Like It” from Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull. The song will be available for download at iTunes on May 25th.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA DEFENDS NEW VIDEO
Christina Aguilera’s new video for “Not Myself Enough” has created a buzz, with jaw-dropping images including tiny outfits, extended S&M-inspired sequences and a lot of groping. But in an interview with Access Hollywood, Aguilera defended the clip, saying that it shows off her wild side. She added that the video is not inappropriate, and that just because she’s a mother, it doesn’t mean that she’s not also an artist, one who deals honestly and frankly with the subject of sexuality. LEONA LEWIS TALKS KIDS
Leona Lewis wants kids — just not yet. In an interview with InStyle magazine, the pop star says that she and longtime boyfriend, Lou Al-Chamaa, do want children, but that she’s going to “hold off.” As for when Leona would want to procreate, the 25-year-old said that she thinks “forty-something is a good age.”
BEYONCE AND JAY-Z MOVING TO PENNSYLVANIA?
According to the Associated Press, Beyonce and Jay-Z may be moving to Schuylkill (Pron: Skoo-kill) County, Pennsylvania. Rumors are swirling around the quiet area that the couple is planning to buy a multimillion-dollar spread on 210 secluded acres in eastern Pennsylvania. According to the report, no one seems to know how the rumor got started. There has been no deed recorded in the courthouse, no real estate transfer tax has been paid, and the celebs are yet to request a showing, according to the real estate agent listing the house. The house in question is listed at 11.9-million dollars and it’s got 16-thousand square feet of living space. The property comes with a vintage eight-bedroom house, a one-bedroom guest house and a restored bank barn. The area is just over two hours west of Manhattan by car, and even closer by helicopter or private plane.
JIM JONSIN TALKS EMINEM
Eminem has been in the studio with a new cast of producers for his upcoming album Recovery. Among them is Jim Jonsin, who’s produced hits for Lil Wayne, BeyoncÃ© and T.I. Rap-Up.com caught up with the hitmaker who talked about working with Slim Shady. He said they had a true collaboration on a song that could very well be a single. Jonsin added that Em pushed him in a different direction and that the two really enjoyed working together.
FANTASIA PLANS TO SHOW SEXIER SIDE ON NEW LP
Hitmaker Rico Love sat down with Rap-Up.com to talk about the work he did for Fantasia’s upcoming album. The producer aimed to “make sexy records for Fantasia. I wanted to show people her seductive side. I think we did some really, really strong records.” While there is no album title or release date for Fanny’s new project, the former American Idol winner’s Vh1 reality show, Fantasia for Real, was just renewed.
BEYONCE TEASES WITH “WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME”
We previously reported Beyonce was going to take a six month break from the music business to focus on cooking classes and art museums. Well it seems like Jay-Z’s wife just can’t stay away as a new viral video has surfaced for her song “Why Don’t You Love Me” — which is a bonus track from 2009’s re-release of I Am… Sasha Fierce. In the 30-second clip, Bey poses as “BB Homemaker,” but it’s unclear if the cut will actually be released as a new single. PAINTING OF TAYLOR SWIFT STOLEN
For an art project, a high school student created a drawing of Taylor Swift. The piece went on to win Best of Show and was then displayed a mall exhibit, but it has been stolen. According to MLive.com, Justin Burns of Saginaw, Michigan spent over 30 hours on the drawing using colored pencils. His art teacher doesn’t believe the heist was random considering the Taylor piece was the only thing stolen out of hundreds of projects. A 50-dollar reward is being offered by the teacher and the mall says no questions will be asked if the artwork is returned to their security desk.
HONDA CIVIC TOUR HEADS TO JONES BEACH
The Honda Civic Tour just got a little bigger. The trek, which features Paramore, has added a show in Wantagh, New York’s Jones Beach on August 6th. BRET MICHAELS DOING BETTER
Today, doctors will speak about the condition of Bret Michaels as he recovers from a brain hemorrhage, but reports from sources are already trickling in that the rocker is doing “amazing.” Insiders told TMZ that this weekend, Bret was “very aware” and in a “good mood” during an evaluation and was even “somewhat talkative.” Meanwhile, doctors are saying that the Poison singer’s “fight to stay conscious” during his hemorrhage saved his life. You can hear more from Bret’s physicians when they update the public on his condition today at noon. <DB>
Bret’s doctor went on to say, “He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he ‘did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor.’”
SLASH LIKES DISNEY CRUISES, TOM CRUISE
There was a feature in Friday’s New York Times about Slash. The paper caught up with the legendary guitarist before he joined the Black Eyed Peas onstage at L-A’s Staples Center in March. In the article, Slash revealed that these days, for kicks, he loves going on Disney cruises.
