JUSTIN GOES TO SEE LEONA

Leona Lewis played a special concert on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, the day her sophomore album Echo came out in stores, and she had a pretty prominent musician come to her show.   According to the L-A Times, Justin Timberlake took in the show from Lewis’ private table where they exchanged hugs and chatted.

MILEY DOESN’T LIKE TWLIGHT

There’s at least one person in the world that doesn’t like Twilight, and that’s Miley Cyrus.   According to USA Today, the pop star was quoted telling a radio station that she can’t stand the popular movie franchise.   Cyrus said, “I’ve never seen it and nor will I ever.   I don’t believe in it.   I don’t like vampires. … I don’t like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night.   I don’t like it.   I don’t want anything to do with it. SHAKIRA PERFORMS “SANTA BABY”

Rap-Up.com reports Shakira performed a rendition of the Christmas classic “Santa Baby” during NBC’s 12th Annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center. The star studded-event was held at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza and also featured performances from Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and The Roots. The special will air on NBC on December 2nd. <WM>

JOHN MAYER GUSHES ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT

John Mayer told Access Hollywood he’s a big fan of Taylor Swift because of her sense of wonderment.     John said, “Taylor Swift is the last person to know she’s Taylor Swift, which I think is totally sweet… It’s almost like Taylor Swift is like a character in a movie about a small-town girl who has her dreams come true, and what any small-town girl would do when their dreams come true is to freak out.” Taylor joined Mayer on the song “Half of My Heart,” which is featured on Mayer’s latest album, Battle Studies, which is out now.   <LR>

TAYLOR SWIFT PROPS GO TO A GOOD CAUSE

The castle used on stage during Taylor Swift’s 2008 CMA Award performance of “Love Story” has found a new home — the drama department at Greenbriar Middle School in Nashville. WKRN — TV reports Travis Harris snatched the piece after working the award show last year and hearing the CMA had planned to just throw it away. Harris also does sound for the school and knew they could use the prop, which will be used for their production of Sleepy Beauty.

CHRIS BROWN TRIBUTES MJ ON TOUR

During the L-A stop on his Fan Appreciation Tour, Chris Brown paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson in a major way. Unlike his previous attempts, Breezy gave a four minute long rendition of his best MJ moves. Check it out on YouTube now.

LADY GAGA CAN COOK

We’ve heard rumors about Lady Gaga wanting to become an actress, but does she want to become a chef now too?   Well according to ContactMusic.com, the “Just Dance” singer might head down that road because she loves to cook.   Gaga said, “I am really good at Italian food because I come from a very Italian family. So I make great meatballs, pasta.”

WHY DID AMY WINEHOUSE REALLY GO TO THE HOSPITAL?

We’ve been led to believe that Amy Winehouse has been in the hospital for the last few days because of a bad reaction she had to some medicine, but her dad Mitch is saying that it might actually have to do with Amy having problems with her new breast-implants.   According to British paper The Sun, while pointing to his chest, Mr. Winehouse said on his TV show, “She’s fine, she just had a little leaky something or other.”

MADONNA’S KID IS GOING TO BE RICH

It’s going to be a few years, but according a top ten list compiled by Europe’s Cartoon Network, you can expect Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s son Rocco to become the richest celebrity in Great Britain.   It has Rocco poised to be worth 376-million pounds (625-million U-S dollars), some of it inherited from his famous parents, but also because he has “star quality,” “talent” and “love of the camera.”   Madonna’s three other kids didn’t crack the top ten. Coming in at second place is Cruz Beckham, son of David and Victoria, while Princes Harry and William come in at ninth and tenth respectively.

50 CENT’S PROJECTED ALBUM SALES

According to Hits Daily Double, 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct album is projected to sell between 150-thousand to 160-thousand copies in his first week. We won’t know for sure until the Nielsen SoundScan comes out next week, however this album could potentially be the mogul’s lowest selling effort to date.

LIL WAYNE AND NIVEA WELCOME BABY BOY

Over the weekend, Lil Wayne and Nivea welcomed a healthy new baby boy into the world. Weezy now has four kids, three sons and a ten-year-old daughter with his ex wife.   According to BallerStatus.com, further info, such as the child’s name and weight, were unknown at press time.

LEONA LEWIS RECALLS LIL WAYNE PERFORMANCE

Leona Lewis recently told Rap-Up.com what it was like performing with Lil Wayne during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. The “Happy” singer explained her involvement was very last minute, but she really wanted to share the same stage as Weezy. Leona recalled how difficult it was to learn the Nina Simone-sampled song “Don’t Get It,” however she remembers Wayne being sweet and treating her with “that Southern hospitality and politeness.”  

LUDARCRIS ON DIDDY’S LAST TRAIN TO PARIS

According to Ludacris’ official Twitter page, the rapper revealed who he is currently working with. Luda tweeted: “In studio in L-A working on a track for Diddy’s Last Train To Paris album. I didn’t know what to expect at first, but this sh** is jamming.’” Fans should expect the Dirty Money to release their collaborated effort in March.

WALE’S DEBUT ALBUM WAS UNDER SHIPPED?

Despite performing at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and playing Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 tour, Wale’s debut Attention: Deficit album only managed to move 28,100 copies in its first week out. The rapper’s manager, Daniel Weisman, told XXLMag.com that the disc was under-shipped adding he got “feedback from the fans about the problems they had actually finding the CD.” Nevertheless, Wale’s LP landed number 21 on The Billboard 200 chart.

ICE CUBE MAKES FORBES’ OVERPAID ACTORS LIST

EMINEM PREPS RELAPSE: REFILL

Attention Eminem fans! Your favorite rapper is currently preparing a re-release of his platinum selling Relapse album. According to Rap-Up.com, Slim Shady’s new revamped version of the album, titled Relapse: Refill, will feature all the album’s original tracks, plus seven new songs.   The double-disc release drops on December 22nd.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD pART OF ALL-STAR TRIBUTE

Carrie Underwood will be on CNN Thanksgiving night performing for CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute. With Anderson Cooper as host, the event will honor those selected by CNN’s Blue Ribbon Panel and each hero will go home with 25-thousand dollars in recognition of their work. The big 100-thousand dollar prize will go to the hero of the year, who will be announced that night. There’s no word on what Carrie will sing. Nicole Kidman will also be part of this special.  

PETE WENTZ BLAMES HIMSELF FOR FOB SPLIT

Pete Wentz is talking more about the break Fall Out Boy is taking. British magazine Kerrang spoke to the bassist and he says he thinks his name has become a hindrance for the band. The magazine states that Wentz is worried the media coverage surrounding his relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz had a negative impact on FOB and their music.     Read more at Music.MSN.com/Music.

A NEW EP FROM ERIC HUTCHINSON

Eric Hutchinson just announced via a press release that he will be putting out a new EP called Sounds Like This Live 2, which features stripped-down version of five songs off the singer-songwriter’s debut album Sounds Like This, including his current single “OK, It’s Alright With Me.”   It’s Eric’s second EP, with the original Sounds Like This Live having been released in April.   Eric is out on tour with Kelly Clarkson and will be heading to Australia and New Zealand with her next year.   Sounds Like This Live 2 will hit stores on December 15th.

ROCK DOCS OUT OF RUNNING FOR OSCARS

It seems like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is not a fan of rock.   That’s because the organization has released their short list of possible Oscar nominees for Best Documentary and neither Anvil! The Story of Anvil or It Might Get Loud was on the list.   The critically-acclaimed Anvil! The Story of Anvil highlighted what the Canadian rockers have been up to, and made the group more popular than ever.   It Might Get Loud featured Jimmy Page, Jack White and U2’s The Edge talking about their craft.   Neither movie was among the 15 films still in the running for the Academy Award.  

DON’T POST BEATLES MUSIC ON YOUR WEB SITE

Note to Web site owners: don’t post Beatles music.   Two sites have learned this the hard way.   After the Web pages sold and streamed the Fab Four’s tunes, a judge closed them down indefinitely.   According to the Associated Press, the sites, BlueBeat and BaseBeat, were hawking Beatles tracks for a quarter a piece.   The band’s label, EMI, won a preliminary court injunction ruling the sites had been illegally selling the tracks.   The sites claimed because the music was re-recorded, the songs were exempt from copyright, but the judge felt the Web page owners did not back up that claim.  

DATES FOR 2010 BONNAROO ANNOUNCED

Music lovers mark off June 10th to the 13th on your calendar.   On those days, the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will take place.   No word yet on who will be playing the Tennessee event but ticket pre-sales begin on November 27th.   Learn more at Bonnaroo.com.
