In December, Joe Satriani sued Coldplay, alleging their track “Viva La Vida” contained “substantial, original portions” of his 2004 tune “If I Could Fly.” Well this week, the copyright infringement case was dismissed. While details of the case are sealed, legal sources told Billboard a financial settlement was most likely reached. Either way, Coldplay will not have to admit wrongdoing.
