The Queen Killing Kings release Wind Up Records debut “Tidal Eyes” digitally on July 14th.
The Queen Killing Kings are déjà vu. A memory of a childhood blanket lost long ago in the windstorm. A familiarity tinged with remorse, remembrance of an irreplaceable remnant of the past. But one that we cannot name.
Coley O’Toole writes a song immersed in fairy tale chaos. Witches and Indian tribes. Power in disarray. Weakness and regret. A land where the Riding Hood doesn’t find her home. Where the glaring eyes of the wolves shine through the towering timbers of the forest. Lost at sea, alone in the dark woods, asleep in the sky, a hand reaches out and touches you. Holds your hand. Pulls it close. And there is warmth. Fire. Burning embers glowing red and blue. A smile. Hope.
