Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora have teamed up with exiled Iranian singer Andy Madadian on a version of Ben E. King’s song “Stand By Me.” The bi-lingual video, which is up on YouTube, is meant to send “a musical message of worldwide solidarity” to the Iranian people dealing with their country’s recent controversial election. Producer Don Was told Billboard that the Farsi and English recording of the song took place last week in L-A. Madadian was going into the studio with Was and they saw Bon Jovi and Sambora, told them what they were up to and got them on board. The track won’t be for sale and is only meant to spread across the word, sending a message of unity to Iranians.
