SHANNON STEPHENS RETURNS WITH NEW ALBUM “THE BREADWINNER” SEPTEMBER 8

Shannon Stephens is a musician with a fantastic voice and a terrific knack for writing spirited, organic folk songs. She was once the singer of the Michigan-based band Marzuki and she shared co-writing duties with her band mates Matt Haseltine, Sufjan Stevens and Jamie Kempkers.

When the group disbanded, Shannon chose to embark on a solo career and moved to Seattle, WA. She played out for a year or so, doing shows with Rosie Thomas, Damien Jurado, Denison Witmer and others. However, doing all of her own booking and publicity started to kill her joy, and she soon burned out. Shannon went into hiding from music for about eight years. It took that long for her to start missing it, and then another year to remember how to write, sing, and play. But we think it was worth the wait, and we strongly believe you will agree.
