Los Angeles based band Ozomatli has a longstanding mission to spread a message of global communication and understanding through music and diversity.   Often describing their pioneering mash-up of hip hop, salsa, and cumbia as “the people’s music”, Ozomatli is proud to once again announce that they will be serving as US cultural ambassadors in May of this year, with a US sponsored State Department trip slated for Ozo performances in Rangoon, Myanmar; Ho Chi Mihn City in Vietnam; and Bangkok, Thailand.

Ozomatli has previously served this role with a series of US government-sponsored programs, international trips that have sent the band to Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East – tours that linked Ozomatli to a longstanding tradition of US cultural diplomacy that includes the esteemed likes of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Louis Armstrong.
