Warner Bros. Records announced today that Todd Moscowitz has joined Warner Bros. Records as its Executive Vice President. Moscowitz currently serves as CEO of WMG’s Independent Label Group (ILG), which includes the Asylum and East West labels. In his new role as EVP of Warner Bros. Records, Moscowitz will bring Asylum to the Warner Bros. family of labels, reporting to Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Tom Whalley. Moscowitz will continue to serve as CEO of the remainder of ILG, reporting to John Esposito, WEA Corp.’s president and CEO.
Moscowitz will bring his years of experience to Warner Bros. Records where he will oversee the expansion of the label’s urban roster. With Asylum as part of the Warner Bros. Records family of labels, Asylum’s developing artists will be able to draw upon the proven marketing and promotional expertise of the Warner Bros. team. At the same time, Asylum will serve a valuable A&R and artist development resource for Warner Bros. as it increases Warner Bros.’ presence in urban music.
