BARENAKED LADIES TALK TO BILLBOARD ABOUT SPLIT FROM SINGER

The Barenaked Ladies announced their split from singer Steven Page on their Web site this week and from what was written, it seemed to be a mutual and respectful break-up.   Band Co-founder Ed Robertson, who also sings for the group, spoke to Billboard.com yesterday and echoed those sentiments.   He told the Web site that the split was “a really positive thing for us” and that the band is “really excited about the future.”   He went on to say, “Certainly it’s the end of an era, but things change and the creative process is always changing. We’re really excited about getting into the studio and exploring that.”   The band also still intends to put out a 20th anniversary box-set that was planned long before Page left the group.   They’ll also still head out on tour after finishing up in the studio.
