YEAH YEAH YEAHS are back back BACK! The New York City trio are poised to release the follow-up to 2006’s “Show Your Bones”, an album described by Rolling Stone’s David Fricke as “above all, a textural triumph, a quantum bounce from the brittle jitter and insect-chatter fuzz of the band’s 2001 Yeah Yeah Yeahs EP and 2003’s full-length Fever to Tell.
It’s as if the Velvet Underground had gone from the black-crusted minimalism of their first album right to the pop bloom of their fourth, Loaded.” Overseas, NME called it “one of the albums of the decade.” “It’s Blitz!” will be released on 14th April on DGC/Interscope preceded a week prior by single “Zero” – a huge, electronic dance-floor anthem of a song. NOTHING else feels like this right now. “We’ve got a death grip on the adolescent way of feeling things,” says Karen O, touching on the track’s euphoric abandon.
