BILLY BOB THORNTON READS SKOPE / TOUR DATES

boxmasters_band_reduced.jpgBilly Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters kicked off their national tour last week in support of their self-titled double CD, The Boxmasters. We just found out from a close source that Billy Bob  is a regular Skope visitor.

The eight week trek, which includes 40 dates, got off to a rousing start with a sold out show at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, CA on July 11th.   The standing room only crowd was treated to 2 = hours of swaggering hillbilly, kick ass rock with boisterous renditions of Ernest Tubb’s “She’s Looking Better By The Minute, Mott the Hoople’s “The Original Mixed Up Kid” and The Who’s “The Kid’s Are Alright” as well as their own “The Poor House” and “That Mountain.”   The Boxmasters will also be making several special in-store appearances throughout the tour.   Tour/In-Store dates are listed below.

The Boxmasters are generating quite a buzz with appearances on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, VH1 Rock Honors salute to The Who, guest hosting Jonesy’s Jukebox on Los Angeles’ Indie 103 and a special in-studio session with legendary DJ Jim Ladd at KLOS.   The first single from The Boxmasters, “The Poor House,” reached the top 5 at the Americana chart and continues to receive airplay at GAC and CMT.com.
