Everfine/Atlantic recording group O.A.R. will be heading to Omaha, Nebraska Sunday, May 25th to shoot a promo for ESPN’s exclusive coverage of the 2008 Men’s College World Series taking place June 14th to the 25th.
The promo will be shot in downtown Omaha and at the famous Rosenblatt Stadium. It will feature the lead track, “This Town,” from their forthcoming album All Sides set for release July 15th. The promo spot will be featured in over 60 hours of coverage of the 2008 Men’s College World Series.
“We are big sports fans,” said lead singer Marc Roberge. “So to be involved with the College World Series and ESPN is a great match for us. We wrote “This Town” about the love we have for the live show and the College World Series is all about the crowds.”
O.A.R., which includes band members Marc Roberge (vocals, electric & acoustic guitar), Richard On (electric guitar & background vocals), Jerry DePizzo (saxophone), Benj Gershman (bass), and Chris Culos (drums) formed in 1996. They have blazed a unique grassroots trail across America, revealing their compelling musical vision through near-constant touring. With their distinct sound and introspective, heartfelt lyricism, the band has earned a fervent following from coast to coast. It is that following that allowed the band to sell out the World’s Most Famous Arena, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, twice.
O.A.R.’s three month, 36-date “All Sides Tour” will kick off on June 15th at the prestigious Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The band will bring their critically acclaimed live show to several well known venues across the country, including San Francisco’s The Fillmore, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center, Long Island’s Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, Anaheim’s House of Blues, and Phoenix’s Dodge Theatre.
