  • ROTHBURY 2009 IS ON!
    Jul 2, 2009
ROTHBURY, last year's break-out festival hit, returns to the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan on July 2-3-4-5, 2009. Look for artist line-up announcement and ticket on-sale information coming soon.

Building on the outstanding success of its inaugural year, ROTHBURY once again harnesses the unique 21st century American festival spirit to create an event unlike any other. With music at its core, ROTHBURY continues its mission to create a state-of-the-art large scale sustainable event and to organize and nurture community involvement that makes a difference. ROTHBURY is a huge party with a purpose.

This announcement ends months of speculation as to whether or not this highly anticipated festival gem would resurface. No two ROTHBURY festivals will be the same. 2009 attendees can look forward to even more over-the-top entertainment experiences and broadened VIP offerings unmatched by any other U.S. festival.

ROTHBURY's bold social and environmental mission continues to manifest in 2009, building on last year's topic of Climate Change and Clean Energy Solutions. Within the festival, look for expanded ROTHBURY Think Tank activities and even more cutting-edge festival implementation of ever-changing technologies in the quest for energy independence. Beyond the festival, via innovative community projects and local partnerships, ROTHBURY 09 offers increased involvement opportunities to make a positive impact locally, nationally, and globally.

As ROTHBURY Producer Jeremy Stein explains, "ROTHBURY is proud to host a community of conscious and involved fans who strive for a better future. We're also extremely grateful for the support of our local neighbors and the greater Michigan community. Together - we're raising the bar."

Indeed, such unparalleled community support and involvement led to huge successes for ROTHBURY's 2008 philanthropic programs and on-site environmental festival initiatives. Such initiatives included ROTHBURY's Music in Schools Program, ROTHBURY's Solar Schools Program, the ROTHBURY Food Drive and The Conscious Alliance Can Sculpture, and ROTHBURY's Greening and Sustainability Initiatives.

  • JACOB FRED JAZZ ODYSSEY \"Live\" In BOSTON FRIDAY, JULY 10 & SATURDAY, JULY 11 @ THE LIZARD LOUNGE
    Jul 10, 2009
Evolution defines the spirit of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. In fact, evolution is what allows this Tulsa, Oklahoma institution to thrive. Greater than the sum of its parts, JFJO is hitting new creative peaks in an already historic 15-year career. Founding pianist Brian Haas and drummer Josh Raymer made the decision at the outset of 2009 to expand what was one of the fiercest modern jazz trios in recent memory to a quartet by adding lap steel guitarist Chris Combs and upright bassist Matt Hayes. The new line-up quickly re-emerged with a bristling energy and an invigorated sound. Hitting the road this summer for a string of select tour dates, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey joins Club D'Elf in Boston at The Lizard Lounge on Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th.

  • HARD ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL AT THE FORUM IN LOS ANGELES
    Aug 8, 2009
British music stalwarts Underworld will transform the 15,000-capacity LA Forum into the world's largest dance club. Enlisted to aid HARD's party-starting cause: Canadian electro-funk duo and talk-box enthusiasts Chromeo, preeminent Italian superstars Crookers, lo-fi mutineers Crystal Castles, and electro-hop wunderkind A-trak. Currently slated to join them are the likes of Tiga, The Bloody Beetroots, Sebastian, Busy P, Amanda Blank, Steve Aoki, Rye Rye, Skeet Skeet, Sinden, Jack Beats, Destructo, Dan Oh and 12th Planet.

2009's HARD Summer lineup speaks to the broad, multi-faceted appeal that has made HARD's events so successful. Veterans Underworld opened electronic music's floodgates with their daring mega-hit "Born Slippy .NUXX" (UK #2) and its pivotal role in the film Trainspotting. The duo earned the respect of critics and fans with their unforgettable, accomplished performances and ever-evolving style. The slick synth-pop of Chromeo jostles up against the arty bit-crushed productions of Crystal Castles and the high-tech eclecticism of Tiga. Fans will revel at the multi-media electro-punk of HARD all-stars Crookers and The Bloody Beetroots.

This year the HARD creative team builds on the immense success of last year's HARD Summer Music Festival which attracted over 7,000 revelers to party with N*E*R*D and MSTRKRFT, and was hailed as "the party of the year" by URB.com. With every event they put on, HARD enhances its reputation as a powerhouse, and this summer's party is sure to raise the bar again. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at Groovetickets and Ticketmaster.
