Every month, Skopemag.com and Sonicbids.com choose 10 musicians from the Sonicbids community to appear in our A2W section. Sonicbids is a Web site that helps bands get gigs, and promoters book the right bands. We look for musicians that are serious about their craft and have a sound & image that is unique, personal, and catchy. Check back with us every month as we expose Skope readers to new musicians from all over the world. Feel free to check out their EPK’s for more from that artist.

It’s that time again to look at a sampling of emerging artists from Sonicbids. You will notice a couple of changes in this column. First, it is converting to bi-monthly status. And second, I will be on hiatus for a few months. It has been my pleasure to introduce new talent to our readers at Skope. I have found some really great bands and solo performers here, and I hope you have, too.

This month’s SonicBids Artists to Watch is a very eclectic mix. I was hard pressed to organize the artists into some kind of categories. Half are from outside of the US. They are a mix of rock, acoustic, and the unusual.

This month’s SonicBids Artists to Watch are a motely crew (pun fully intended!). More than half are international performers and the rest are from the US. There are four performers who pump out variations of rock that is strong on lyrics, three acoustic acts, and a hip-hop artist. All are very lyric-driven, except for one.

This month’s SonicBids Artists to Watch are split between rock groups and hip-hop artists, with one outlier—a singer/songwriter. Most of these artists are from the US with only two from overseas—and their genre choices just might surprise you.

This month’s Sonicbids Artists to Watch are an exciting bunch. Half of them are singer/songwriters and the other half are bands that cover a broad range of styles. These artists also come primarily from the US, with some from Australia and one from Belgium.

Four of this month’s Sonicbids Artists to Watch have international connections and the other four are homegrown. But there is nothing roots about any of these artists. The majority of them are metal and alt-rock bands, with two lyricists in the mix.
