NATHANIEL SHANNON AND THE VANISHING TWIN Reveals Eerie “Trespasses”

Today, NATHANIEL SHANNON AND THE VANISHING TWIN, in cooperation with Decibel Magazine, unveils the eerie new video for “Trespasses.” The tune comes by way of the record of the same name, released late last year via Aqualamb.

Notes Decibel of the clip, “SHANNON’s spoken word-style vocals over haunting and minimalist instrumentals lends a creepy atmosphere to the record. Shannon ups the creepiness with a new video for ‘Trespasses,’ which shows SHANNON’s ghostly face appearing over shots in a graveyard, against a brick wall and the bathroom floor. It’s not as gory as the blood-soaked video for ‘Debutantes,’ but it adds another unsettling piece to his macabre collection.

So I wanted to do a song that musically felt like I was driving through paradise — the sun setting, the pink skies, the palm trees over the ocean, the city in the distance — but, lyrically, I wanted it to be about the dark side, the lonely side, and the deceiving side of the city; everyday being the same old shit.”

The album is about these and other kinds of changes, especially those that prompt reflection upon childhood memories and grappling with whether your experiences were as good (or bad) at the time as you think they are now.

We were blown away by his cross-genre, highly collaborative guitar wizardry, and challenged ourselves to write something in that jazz infused jam-band style. We kept referring to the song as ‘KW,’ and it stuck. Keller heard the tune, and offered to swap us some string parts on his new album for his signature guitar chops on ours – and KW was born.Keller is an authentic human. He has made a living doing what he loves while being who he is – and we really respect that. It’s more rewarding to live your life authentically rather than for self-gain.”

To excite fans, GAWVI added Andy Mineo and KB to the stadium-sized beat “to ‘level up’ the song even more.” “God Speed” follows the release of “Closer,” the undeniably fun and reverent first single from We Belong, which impacted Hot AC/CHR radio as the ‘most-added’ record this week debuting at #24 on the chart.

Then, we put it on the shelf,” vocalist, Chase Lawrence told Baeble. “It’s strange how you can’t tell how special something is until you revisit it. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s delusion. I’ve physically changed, but I think my 20 year old self had ‘me’ more figured out than I do even now. We put this song away for a later time. I guess it’s now. ‘Malibu 1992.'”
