Superhuman Happiness, Rubblebucket announce new project Touch/Feel

TOUCH/FEEL performs experimental pop with a chamber music sensibility. Driving and raw dance rhythms, elegant melodic phrases, and an engaging dynamic move the audience from gentle meditations to head banging emotional workouts. Drawing inspiration from early Peter Gabriel records, Sade, the Kronos Quartet, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Kraftwerk, the group comes to formation behind the dark vocals of alto Dia Luna, who serves as the high priestess for the unfolding ritual of their performances. Processed drums, filtered bass guitar, analog synthesizers, saxophone, flute and trumpet all combine to orchestrate an abstract narrative that takes the audience through 9 specific movements – variously incorporating dancers, composition, structured improvisation, and performance art.

IKILLYA’S BRAND NEW VIDEO “YOUR GOD”

Metal fans across the globe can click here to check out the exclusive worldwide premiere of IKILLYA’s new video, “Your God,” on MetalSucks today. The powerful new video/song tackles the controversial subject of those who utilize religion to act violently. Of the video and track, IKILLYA lead singer Jason Lekberg commented, “I began writing this song the day of the Bataclan shooting in Paris. That event helped me finally put into words my disgust with people who use their interpretation of “god” to justify hurting, killing or infringing on the rights of others. It’s the first IKILLYA song ever to use an expletive, but I don’t know that there is any more appropriate way to express how we feel”.

SO THIS IS SUFFERING: No Clean Singing Streams ‘Palace Of The Pessimist’

Technical death metal unit SO THIS IS SUFFERING will drop their Palace Of The Pessimist full-length worldwide via Unique Leader Records this Friday. Today No Clean Singing is streaming the record in its punishing entirety before you can buy it, issuing of its ten tracks, “The sound is unmistakably deathcore, but it’s the kind of deathcore one might imagine being created aboard lightspeed warcraft headed our way from Andromeda. The music is barbarically brutish but also eerily extraterrestrial and freakishly fluctuating. The songs are hurricane blasts of multifaceted and mercurial sound. Yes, there are gigantic, atonal, booming chords that punch hard enough to shiver the foundations of your dwelling, and clobbering breakdowns produced for maximum destructive impact, coupled with kidney-punching riffs and a maniacal mix of howling bellows, gang growls, flesh-melting shrieks, and rancid strangling noises in the vocal department. But… you’ll also find frequent doses of spidery fretwork creating hornet-swarm arpeggios and filaments of luminescent melody, along with demented electronic pulsing and shimmering alien ambience that might put your teeth on edge.”

Jessica Dennison + Jones Premiere New Single “Greek Sculpture”

There is something indefinably timeless about Jessica Dennison + Jones’ self-titled debut. It’s not the result of some quaint recording process or of precious, sepia-toned songwriting, but a quality that lies outside of the album’s minimal grooves, layered vocals, and contemplative, naturalistic lyrics. Perhaps what is timeless about Jessica Dennison + Jones comes from the connection between two friends (both, serendipitously, named Jessica) who have been playing music together for over a decade and who have finally found their perfect place. It’s a creative destination that most bands never find, let alone on their first albums—a place where vision and vulnerability are in perfect balance, and where the Jessicas’ creative bond results in songs so deeply personal and mysterious that we as listeners can’t help but assign our own stories to them.

Premiered today by Zane Lowe on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio, “My Crew (Wooo)” is a massive comeback for the acclaimed rapper, and is sure to fill dancefloors on both sides of the Canadian border.

Stockholm’s Lucas Nord premieres “Mess It Up”

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and in Brooklyn, the pickin’ is quality. Where else can you find a vintage Roland synthesizer in working condition just laying around, begging to be picked up and used on a space-age R&B groove?

“I wrote ‘Mess It Up’ in a basement in Green Point, Brooklyn with Roger Kleinman, Zach Seman and Theo Seman (A$AP Rocky, Whethan) last summer,” independent producer Lucas Nord says. “It started off with us playing around with a beat up Roland SH-101 synth Roger had found on the sidewalk that day. No Vacation signs to Topshelf Records

No Vacation is an indie/dream pop band that combines the novel sounds of college nostalgia and surf-tinged bedroom pop. What began as a sunny San Francisco dorm-room duo in early 2015 by front-woman Sabrina Mai, quickly evolved into a band as Marisa Saunders and Nat Lee entered the fold. Eventually, Harrison Spencer joined and No Vacation migrated from their familiar garage practice spaces to the studio, where they recorded their second release Summer Break Mixtape. This would lead up to their initial break-up later that year. After a year of anticipation, shows under various names, and a few line-up changes, James Shi was added to solidify the official reunion of the 5-piece.
