“I still believe in the promise of rock ‘n’ roll, and our aim is to remind people it’s out there,” says Petree. “One of the most consistent comments I get from people who see us play live is that, as a band, we go for broke. I take pride in that and hope it’s something that comes across on the record.”

‘ROCK DOG’

For the Tibetan Mastiffs living on Snow Mountain, a dog’s life has a simple riff: Guard a peaceful village of wool-making sheep from the thuggish wolf Linnux (Lewis Black) and his rabid pack. To avoid distractions, Mastiff leader Khampa (J.K. Simmons) forbids all music from the mountain. But when Khampa’s son Bodi (Luke Wilson) discovers a radio dropped by a passing airplane, it takes just a few guitar licks for his fate to be sealed: Bodi wants to be a rock ‘n’ roll star. Yet that means defying his father’s wishes, heading to the city, and locating the legendary – and reclusive – musician Angus Scattergood (Eddie Izzard), who needs to write a new song and fast.

If Bodi can put a band together, help Angus with his song, and defeat the wolves’ plot to take Snow Mountain, his life will be in tune. Bodi will become what he’s always dreamed of being: More than a dog … more than a Rock God… he’ll be a ROCK DOG!

Summit Premiere presents, a Huayi Brothers Media Corp. and Mandoo Pictures production, in association with Huayi Tencent Entertainment Company, Eracme Entertainment, and Dream Factory Group.

Nova Materia shares video for “ON/AV”

Dirty guitars, mesmerising beats and gravelly voices – welcome to Nova Materia. A moniker worn as a warning this music will take you some place unknown. After a three track single ‘Aparece En Suen~os’ which came out on Kill The Dj in 2015, Caroline and Eduardo have followed up their shamanic rituals in a similar vein with this fresh EP. In an age of up to the second technology we plunge here back into a kind of Stone Age revisiting the fundamental sources of sound with the amps whacked up and all the buttons fiery red. Regular instruments have raw sounds twisted from them in violent and ritualistic manner. Having spent 17 years in the Franco-Chilean band Panico has of course left its own traces. Shaking off the standard formats, staying free and having fun would appear to be the punk credo values which have survived Panico and remain part of the DNA of the current NM incarnation, reinventing themselves with this record in what has a sulfuric whiff of a manifesto about it.

The pair recorded Awake and Pretty Much Sober in Nashville, where Larson had already produced several Violents EPs featuring different female vocalists. With Martin, he found a particularly unique collaborator. After recording some initial demos, the two realized they were onto something special, something different, something deeper. Something that, like the album’s own title, was filled with both the clear-headed clarity of an early-morning wakeup call and the lovely, woozy swoon of a buzz that had yet to clear.

Global Music Rights Signs Prince Estate for Performing Rights

Global Music Rights (GMR) is proud to announce that it has signed a deal to represent the iconic catalog of songs written by Prince, including “Purple Rain,” “1999,” “When Doves Cry,” and “Raspberry Beret.” A long time advocate of artists’ rights, Prince left ASCAP in 2014 seeking an alternative to traditional public performance licensing practices. The Estate, represented by Bremer Trust, their music industry advisors, Charles Koppelman and Londell McMillan, and attorney Jason Boyarski, concluded that GMR’s philosophy of providing an elite group of writers with heightened customer service and control was most consistent with Prince’s values. As of October 1, 2016, GMR is responsible for licensing for all of Prince’s catalog –both released and unreleased tracks– on a worldwide basis.

Commenting on the signing, Irving Azoff, founder of GMR, said, “I couldn’t be happier that Prince, who, during his lifetime, I worked with at various times over the last 30 years, will have his incredible roster of works represented by GMR. Prince was an iconoclast, who never settled for second best, and now his Estate has ensured that the public performance rights are protected in a way befitting their significance.”

Dirty River – ‘Purple Dreams’ Single

Alternative, eclectic country duo Dirty River formed in 2012 around the talents of singer/songwriters Lea May and Jimi Dobbs. Lea was working as a solo artist and needed a fuller sound. Jimi was also searching for something different, having played in bands and solo for more than 20 years. Somehow their voices found each other and it was inevitable that this was the beginning of something that needed to be heard.

This dynamic duo are passionate storytellers who have only just begun to tell their story. Their new single, ‘Purple Dreams’, is ultimately a love song that depicts the story of two people desperately searching for a kindred spirit who has the ability to love honestly and see them for who they truly are.

NEW SONG – “Living Dreams”

“Mike Bramble is a Pop, Rock and Blues Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist from Portugal.

Mike Bramble writes and produces his own songs where he mixes the melody of Pop and the aroma of Blues/Jazz with the texture of Rock. Mike Bramble writes songs about real life appealing to positive feelings and attitudes. “… the soulful power in Mike’s voice in the Seal-like jazzy/R&B flavour of “Is It You”, and the story-telling heartache of “Her Lies”, which features absolutely gorgeous guitar work… there is much more that we haven’t yet heard from Mike Bramble. Definitely a new talent to watch.”- Bill Smith, Meet Portugal’s @MikeBramble1 Covering INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart”… (May 31, 2014)
