My Body New Single “Blowout”

After putting out their third album Native—a 2013 release that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has sold over 5 million units worldwide—OneRepublic spent more than two years traveling the world in a series of sold-out tours. During that time, the Grammy Award-nominated quintet hit 154 cities in 26 countries and—true to their standing as a singularly global rock band—drew major musical inspiration from each place they visited. As lead singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder transformed that inspiration into new songwriting material, OneRepublic soon began the brilliantly whirlwind process of recording their fourth album all across the planet.

The follow-up to Native (whose host of smash singles include “Counting Stars,” a #1 hit in 54 countries), Oh My My came to life in nearly 20 cities around the world, including Rio, Moscow, Mexico City, Tokyo, Paris, and London. From track to track, OneRepublic—which features bassist Brent Kutzle, guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, and drummer Eddie Fisher—parallel the extraordinary scope of the album’s creation by blending alt-rock, gospel, synth-pop, nu-disco, and folk. With its abundance of sweeping, stadium-ready anthems, Oh My My shapes those eclectic elements into songs built on both masterfully expansive arrangements and bravely intimate lyrics.

Electrifying “Make a Move” is the latest track from EL.i.BE and happens to be one of the most motivating anthems orchestrated by the Minneapolis based Liberian hip-hop artist. “Piercing, tangible stimulus behind the lyrics has the power to raise those who have fallen down in the pursuit of their dreams, and must ring second nature to all achievers out there who never ceased working until they had something to show for their name.” A blend of contagious instrumentals and a steel contemporary beat paired with EL.i.BE’s wise-beyond-years message make us want to rise up with a fist in the air and pursue our goals with perseverance only music can inspire.

COGNITIVE: Brutal Death Metal Behemoths Premiere “Haunted Justice” Lyric Video

“‘Haunted Justice’ is about a town of tortured people attempting to exact their revenge on the witches that have stolen, sacrificed, and consumed their children,” elaborates the band. “The only problem is, when you kill the Host body to Pure Evil, you only wind up doing it the favor of releasing it and unleashing true terror onto the world. Give it a listen, read, and learn the lyrics so you can sing with us next time we’re in your town. Also, listen closely to the amazing guest spots from Misery Index’s very own Mark Kloeppel who absolutely killed the track and brought a visceral sound of hate to life in his performance.”
