HIGH ON FIRE Unleashes “The Black Plot” Animated Video

World-renowned heavy metal power trio HIGH ON FIRE has premiered a new music video for the song “The Black Plot”. Created by Skinner and Hey Beautiful Jerk, “The Black Plot” video, which made its broadcast debut on Adult Swim, is an animated tour de force and a wild psychedelic fantasy epic. “The Black Plot” is taken from HIGH ON FIRE’s latest album, Luminiferous, a record hailed as “masterful” by Pitchfork and “badass” by Consequence of Sound.

“I wanted to make an animated short film with Hey Beautiful Jerk, I just didn’t know how completely crazy it would get,” says Skinner. “At first I thought we should do a real simple story with action fights to wear down the timing a little bit. But then I thought, fuck it, here’s a super complicated story with a million characters and it’s off the wall crazy and shit. Wanna do it?”

Jack White shares surprise Michel Gondry video for “City Lights”

Third Man Records is pleased to share the genius surprise gift they received from their friend Michel Gondry. On his own and without anyone’s knowledge, the legendary filmmaker shot a video for “City Lights,” which he sent them the other night. The video is Gondry’s fifth visual collaboration with The White Stripes. “City Lights” was written for The White Stripes’ GET BEHIND ME SATAN but then forgotten until White revisited the 2005 album for Third Man’s Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue and finished the recording in 2016. The track is the first new, worldwide commercially released song by The White Stripes since 2008.

Canadian rock legends LOVERBOY – featuring original members vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, keyboardist Doug Johnson and drummer Matt Frenette – have become pop culture staples and heroes to a new generation of rock fans, and are now set for even more exposure with a TV campaign for National Car Rental, which started rolling out on the first weekend of the NFL season on Sunday.

The spot for National Car Rental features the band and major fan Patrick Warburton, best known for his roles as David Puddy in Seinfeld, the title character in The Tick and Johnny Johnson on NewsRadio, as well as the voice of Family Guy’s paraplegic police officer Joe Swanson. ETHEREAL RIFFIAN premiere documentary video

Kiev-based rockers Ethereal Riffian in association with Robustfelow Prods have premiered a 30 minute Mini-Documentary titled “Robust Rehearsal Vol. II: Bobina Records & Ethereal Riffian”.

The video, which covers a five year period of the band including their first two albums “Shaman’s Visions” (2011) and “Aeonian” (2014), offers live-in-studio clips, interview segments and snippets of live performances. It also features showcases work from Etherial Riffian’s latest effort, “I AM. Deathless” EP, released earlier this year.

Boston Ballet Presents North American Premiere of Ivan Liška’s Le Corsaire

Boston Ballet’s 53rd season begins with the North American premiere of Ivan Liška’s adventure and romance-filled Le Corsaire, with music by Adolphe Adam, Léo Delibes, Cesare Pugni, Riccardo Drigo, and Prinz von Oldenburg, performed by the Boston Ballet Orchestra. The narrative follows a beautiful maiden, a wealthy aristocrat determined to add her to his harem, and a dashing pirate even more resolved to save her. Based on Marius Petipa’s 19th-century classic, Liška’s version of Le Corsaire was created for the Bavarian State Ballet in 2007. Liška enlisted the assistance of dance historian Doug Fullington to decipher the choreography from its original Stepanov dance notation, which is housed in Harvard University Library’s Theatre Collection. Le Corsaire will run from October 27 to November 6, 2016 at the Boston Opera House.

“Le Corsaire hails from the golden era of classical ballet, and it hasn’t been in our repertoire for several years,” said Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen. “Liška’s production is magnificent, with opportunities for spectacular, virtuoso dancing; technically challenging roles for both men and women; and brilliant corps de ballet scenes with stylish costumes and sets.”

THE GROWLERS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

Moaning Cities Premieres New Single “Vertigo Rising” Via Third Outing

Moaning Cities is a psychedelic rock’n’roll band formed in Brussels late 2011, they released an eponym EP in 2012 coming straight up with folk/blues roots, fuzzed out guitars and sitar driven psychedelia. The debut album Pathways Through The Sail came out in 2014 on the Brussels-based label Mottow Soundz, delivering the band’s experience of the contrasted modern city into psychedelic rock’n roll. Over the last couple years Moaning Cities played with bands like Radio Moscow, The Warlocks, Fuzz, Dead Meadow, Forks, My Sleeping Karma, Holy Wave, Allah-Las, Jacco Gardner, Wall of Death,, and toured in Belgium, Italy, Germany, France & Switzerland, both in nightclubs and festivals including Eurosonic, DOUR, the Desertfests of Antwerp & Berlin, Roadburn & Incubate festivals.

LEVITATE MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL DONATED OVER $18K TO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF MARSHFIELD!

In what is endearingly called the “big little” festival, Levitate Music and Arts Festival donated over $18,000 to Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield this summer. With 10,000 attendees this year, LMF donated $1.25 per ticket sold, plus parking revenue. This is the fourth year that the festival partnered with the club and previous fundraising efforts helped to rebuild the town’s skate park. Alex Wall of The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield commented, “The kindness and generosity of individuals such as Jess & Dan and organizations like Levitate goes a long way in making our job at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield possible. Over the years Levitate has always be a strong supporter of our Club, and the recent success of the Levitate Music Festivals have allowed Jess & Dan to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide the Club with this extremely generous donation! We excitedly look forward to many years of collaboration in the future. As long as the bands keep playing, we’ll keep parking!”

PURGE release debut EP on NEST

Today marks the debut release from the faceless new American duo known as PURGE, who link up with NEST for two dark-tinged bass singles in “Feel Your Love” and “Hit Em”. Technically sound and sonically adventurous, PURGE’s maiden EP depicts a commitment to approaching bass music without bounds or constructs. PURGE vow to take a rebellious stance toward electronic music, and Feel Your Love represents the duo’s firm first step in that objective. The producers see pioneering genre-benders like Justice and Flume as torchbearers for their creative attitude, which they aim to implement in their own atypical direction.

TURNSTILE STREAM MOVE THRU ME

Turnstile have debuted their four song 7″ record titled MOVE THRU ME which is streaming in full today on NPR.

“It felt really good making these songs,” the band told NPR. “There’s so many inspiring individuals creating things or just being humans, and this singles EP was just a reflection on the importance of letting those things or people just inspire you and experiencing things fully; no physical, sexual, musical genre, world barriers.”

A man with the work ethic of three, Jacob has been slow and methodical in finding his voice; instead of picking one typical direction he fused elements of his eclectic musical pallet to form a unique and instantly recognisable sound.

EVOL WALKS SIGNS WORLD-WIDE MANAGEMENT DEAL

Gold Coast hard hitting five-piece, Evol Walks, have signed a worldwide management deal with Los Angeles based Managers, Rick Sales and Adam Mott of Rick Sales Entertainment.

The signing is a significant step forward for the band who have spent the past twelve months touring up and down the American West Coast.

Rick Sales boasts an impressive roster of talent that includes Slayer, Mastodon, Ghost, Gojira and We Came as Romans.

Fronted by Gold Coast born and bred Leah Martin-Brown, it was a performance at the Viper Room in West Hollywood in 2015 that caught Rick’s attention though it wasn’t until he attended the band’s subsequent performance in April this year at the Musexpo Music Conference that he decided to put pen to paper and sign the band.
