Hello there for another week of Skoped Out, I was away last week in Maine. If you have never been I suggest it if you need to just get away. So we have an amazing artist today by the name Gesso Mysticeyes, please get into a zen mood and be ready for a musical escape. Before we get to that lets see about some music news. In June Berlin based startup Stagelink successfully concluded a new financing round. This round’s main investor is Chione Ltd., an investment company active in various industries, including music and entertainment, with a track record of investments in large tour promoters as well as independent labels. Learn more @ In other news, The Commission finds itself under increasing pressure from the cultural sector following letters sent by recorded songwriters and musicians, branch organisations and now authors and creators from all artistic sectors. This latest letter, signed by some of Europe’s most important cultural exporters and influencers, urges the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, to quickly find a real solution to enable a fair sharing of value on the Internet. Today, Internet giants argue that copyright obligations don’t apply to them and hide behind safe harbour exemptions to avoid paying creators and rights holders fairly. It’s not just major pop stars or the music sector at large that is under threat because of this; it is the entire creative ecosystem made up of composers, authors, directors, screenwriters, photographers, sculptors, painters, etc. So now lets get to the sound of Gesso Mysticeyes. I caught wind of this amzing musician from his single “Love Vibrations” and I have been hooked since. I was able to get Gesso on here and we talk about everything from his music alias, Brexit, who he goes it solo, and much more.

Stoli: Where are we talking from today and are you excited for summer 2016?

Hi Stoli, thanks for your communication. I’m in London and very excited about this coming summer.

Stoli: When did you start playing music and were you raised in a home filled with music?

I started playing music (guitar) in Ghana, at the age of 14 when my Dad gave me my first guitar so yes, I grew up in a musical home.

Stoli: How did you get the music alias – Gesso Mysticeyes?

As teenagers in the 60s, aliases were fashion then and came up with the name Gesso. The Mysticeyes, is more because I’m a Yogi and came up with that a few years back before the release of my first album.

Stoli: Being that you are based in the UK are you for or against Brexit?

I support OUT.

Stoli: Your music touches on many genres, what 2 artists had the most impact on you and your sound today?

My mentors are Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Marley. Would have to mention George Benson as well.

Stoli: You are truly a one man band. What is the advantage of you going solo as a musician?

The advantage is, you get to concentrate on your works without any obstructions and you tend to bring the best of you.

Stoli: If I were to come visit you where would we go for some live music & good vibes?

We definitely would go out to see some live gigs if you did visit and definitely awesome vibes.

Stoli: I love your song “Love Vibrations.” When did you record that sond and what is it about?

I finished recording Love Vibrations and mastered it in March, 2012. It’s all about Love, peace and unity of Mankind and Nature.

Stoli: If you were to do a music video what song would you pick and what would that visual be?

Love Vibrations obviously will be my choice and would love a live scene with people’s involvement as well as puppets dancing… picnic festival style.

Stoli: The world is in such a crazy place. What would you like to your music to offer the masses that hear it?

The message to the masses is, love thy neighbour as you love yourself and the manifestation of Paradise. Stand up for Justice and Freedom.

Stoli: What is coming up for you & where you @ online?

I tread through Life centered and always blissful amid the turbulence because, whatever will be, will be. Thanks Stoli for your interest. Love and bless always.
