Four Star Riot Release New Track

It’s been a landmark year for the Tampa Bay rockers; on the heels of their hit single “Something So Right” landing a spot in the box office hit Deadpool, they’ve announced their next full length project Waves. Waves is set to release at the end of this summer via Vital Records (digital/CD). Over the course of multiple releases, Four Star Riot has consistently delivered stick-in-your-head pop/rock choruses and Waves is by far their strongest effort to date.

“Torn & Tattered” was written while the band waited out a record-breaking 22 continuous days of storm last year. While it’s a nod to their Florida roots, it is also a relationship song that compares the ups and downs to stormy nights that clear the morning after.

NOSOUND NEW SONG/MUSIC VIDEO “SHORT STORY” STREAMING ONLINE

After a decade of crafting a very particular type of widescreen melancholia and wistful imagery, Nosound has announced its fifth studio album, Scintilla, to be released via Kscope on September 2.

Inspired by personal upheaval and a desire for change, Scintilla is an emotionally complex and musically direct work presenting a stripped-down set of compositions that mark a major departure from Nosound’s trademark symphonic lushness and production precision. Shifting from the uncharacteristic sarcasm of “Love is Forever” and potent anger of “The Perfect Wife,” to the dreamy sensitivity of “Emily” and the unusually uplifting “Celebration of Life,” Scintilla represents the boldest statement of Nosound’s career so far.

TJ BOYCE IS BACK AND HE BROUGHT HIS “H-TOWN CHICK”

TJ Boyce has been a very busy guy. As a one hundred percent independent artist/producer/songwriter he has hussled up a supportive fanbase and a credible amount of media support, finished his EP and produced and written for a host of both upcoming and established artists to include a writing credit on Bun B’s upcoming project. Somewhere in the midst of all of this, there was a spell where TJ lost his way; the music biz can do that to you, so he took some time off to travel. It was while soaking up the wonders and cultures of Rome, Egypt, South Africa, and Brazil, that TJ once again found his inspiration and was ready to get back to the hustle of being a self-financed label owner and making music.

THE PARANOID STYLE PREMIERE NEW SINGLE “GIVING UP EARLY (ON TOMORROW)”

Of the track, Nelson had to say, “I’ve always had an aversion to songs which are nakedly manipulative, or optimistic in a cock-eyed way, so this was just sort of an antidote to that. Basically, in a fun way, it’s saying: Things are bad, things are going to remain bad in perpetuity, and I hereby recuse myself from the responsibility of hope for the future. I’m hoping it will replace that Green Day song as the favored theme of high school graduations across America.”

HORSEBACK Shares Second New Single “Lion Killer”

Elaborates Jenks Miller of Dead Ringers overall, “The muse dictated a creepy, electronic sound palette this time around. Because recent Rose Cross records have been pursuing the pastoral psych-rock sound of HORSEBACK’s 2014 record, Piedmont Apocrypha, we had an opportunity to venture into the heady regions of the ‘hidden reverse.’ This isn’t really new territory for HORSEBACK, as Coil, Nurse With Wound, and a handful of post-punk bands have always been very influential to our sound. But it’s certainly the furthest we’ve traveled in this particular direction.”
