Now a week from its official unveiling, Noisey is now playing the entire spellbinding Bodemloos LP, the latest from Dutch black metal cult, VERWOED.

Utrecht-based soloist Erik B. began paving his path of destruction as one-man project, Woudloper, in 2014, creating an ethereal yet scathing style, heavily rooted in traditional black metal, yet reaching into more psychedelic realms of inspiration. Breathe Plastic released a critically acclaimed, self-titled demo tape in 2015, yet immediately subsequent to its release the project changed its name to VERWOED, as an even more exploratory epoch of the band was taking place, and when Bodemloos was brought to life.

Off the back of an incredible, packed out peformance on the John Peel stage at Glastonbury last weekend, PALACE are thrilled to share their new video for the single ‘Break The Silence’. Premiered via DIY, who say it’s “Drenched in melancholy… A slow-burn – one that tears apart everything its flame dare to touch”, you can watch the emotionally charged video, here.

Of the video, director Ali Kurr says:

“The track has so much pent up energy bottled inside it, and so when we came to make a film I wanted to harness that sentiment. Shooting in the disused building site reflected this tone, as it’s a space with so much potential that failed to be realised. The act of burning it down resulted in a sort of melancholic euphoria, this latent site was suddenly packed with scorching energy whilst simultaneously crumbling away.”
