SEA SHEPHERD CONSERVATION SOCIETY ANNOUNCES NEW CAMPAIGN IN TIME FOR WORLD OCEANS DAY

Today, on World Oceans Day, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is proud to announce its latest campaign to defend, conserve and protect our oceans.

The campaign, Operation Jairo II, will span three countries including the United States, Honduras and Costa Rica to protect endangered sea turtles. The crowd-funded documentary Why Just One? raised its goal of $18,000 in one day to complete the production and has a star-studded list of names supporting it. Like its predecessor, Operation Jairo II is named after Jairo Mora Sandoval, a Costa Rican turtle defender who was brutally murdered on May 31, 2013 while attempting to protect leatherback turtle nests.

ICONIQUE NEW VIDEO

RAY BENNETT SOLO ALBUM

British progressive rock pioneer, Ray Bennett of Flash, is reissuing his 2001 solo epic “Whatever Falls” for the first time as a digital release, available now on iTunes, and in most digital stores worldwide for purchase and streaming!

With it’s original release just days after the Twin Towers fell on 9/11, the hauntingly beautiful title track, “Whatever Falls” was, by eerie coincidence, appropriate and especially moving. But every track of this extraordinary work is an adventure into the innovative mind of an artist who helped define the progressive genre of rock.

Hailing from Sevenoaks, Kent, in S.E. England, Bennett formed his first band, THE BREED, at fourteen with future YES drummer, Bill Bruford. At 21, he and original YES guitarist Peter Banks formed FLASH (EMI/Capitol). This fast and furious, flashy 70’s band was much acclaimed, but short-lived. They toured worldwide and recorded three albums with a hit single “Small Beginnings” reaching #28 in the USA. (FLASH is currently available on the UK Esoteric label.) After numerous reissues of their music over the years, FLASH reformed with Bennett, now on lead guitar, and original vocalist Colin Carter. In 2013, forty years since the last FLASH album, “Flash-Featuring Ray Bennett & Colin Carter” was released on Cleopatra Records.

HUNDRED “WHAT REMAINS”

Brother-sister duo Hundreds release stunning, 3-D animated video for latest single “What Remains” – the first taste of new album The Wilderness (out via Embassy of Music 04/11/2016)

The dark, introspective lyrics and ethereal instrumentation are perfectly complemented by Nagler’s manipulation of natural elements of rock, water, and wind, which fight back against the destruction of dilapidating industry and big black cities.

Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan’s highly anticipated new album, At Swim, will be released August 19 via ATO Records. The release follows her second full-length album, Passenger, that was praised by Rolling Stone who explained, “Her voice is light and agile, her phrasing like exquisite plumage, and her folksy songs move with deceptive power, sailing on guitars, strings and Irish drama.” “Prayer for the Dying,” the first track to be revealed off At Swim, is premiering today on NPR Music who says it “…showcases Hannigan’s considerable gift for slow-burning melancholy. Setting her lustrous voice against a backdrop of piano, slide guitar and swooning backing vocals, the song sways sweetly for four and a half languid, hypnotic minutes.”
