Barbados superstars 2 Mile Hill have a long list of changes queued up for 2016: new music, US tour and a complete rebrand, to name a few. Formerly known as NexCyx, the rap-rock army announce a new identity as 2 Mile Hill, but maintain the same polish and prowess with “It’s Over” and the entirety of the forthcoming Uncovered EP, available everywhere June 24.
After performing with some of music’s biggest names, including Wyclef Jean, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone and Damian Marley, it’s hard to grasp that the band’s original form was born out of a college experiment. Before putting forward their second EP, André (keyboardist), Chadd (drummer), Kris (bassist), Mahalia (lead vocalist) and Russell (guitarist) transformed into 2 Mile Hill. The new moniker pays full homage to the Barbados landscape that introduced the five musicians and continues to infuse their sound.
