SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS STREAM ‘SVIIB’ IN ITS ENTIRETY ON NPR FIRST LISTEN
It was in the summer of 2012 that School of Seven Bells’ fourth and final album, SVIIB, was written. “I can easily say that it was one of the most creative and inspired summers of our lives,” Alejandra Deheza recounts. “What followed was the most tragic, soul shaking tidal wave that life could ever deliver, but even that wouldn’t stop the vision for this record being realized.” SVIIB will be released everywhere on February 26, but today fans can stream the record in its entirety via NPR’s First Listen:
ASHLEY MONROE LIVE RECORDING
She’s at her best when she not only has a guitar in her hands, but a pencil too. She’s 1/3 of Pistol Annies, 1/2 of the Cherry Sisters, 2 parts sugar, 1 part spice. She’s a East Tennessee gal in a Tennessee town with a new record out and a Grammy nomination to show for it. She’s a storyteller / truth seller / good speller. Hers is a regular name to see on the liner notes of the records you love, and it wouldn’t surprise us one bit if you love the records you love because her name is on the liner notes.

Written and recorded in his bedroom, the EP from which these two tracks have been lifted showcases his arresting, timeless and soulful vocals and makes for an impressive initial offering.

TENDONITIS NEW VIDEO
Tendonitis was originally founded back in 2003. Ever since these early days their target was not to follow any short-living trends but to create their own kind of heavy metal music. The assembly of an adequate troop to achieve their vision took almost 10 years and several lineup changes, the last being the entry of vocalist Ben during fall 2013. Since 2009 Tendonitis have played gigs around Zurich and thrilled the audience with their energetic and authentic sound. Keeping up the audio diversity, the band members are inspired by very different influences. So it’s no wonder that Tendonitis cannot and doesn’t want to fit into any particular genre. Let’s call it melodic, thrash, black or heavy metal – the band somehow manages to combine harshness, profound lyrics and unique melodies into an atmosphere that cannot be described with common attributes and needs to be experienced.
