THE VENETIA FAIR CALL IT QUITS

The band broke the news to their fans today on Facebook, in true TVF style:

“Please don’t make us be in The Venetia Fair anymore! Please please please! We will be in another band if you want, we still like each other a lot just please let it be a different one. We will be in Metallica if they will take us or we will just make another band that isn’t The Venetia Fair if that’s cool. We are very appreciative that you let us be The Venetia Fair for as long as you did but PLEASE let us stop being The Venetia Fair and then maybe let us continue not being The Venetia Fair FOREVER!!! We will play a show or two and you can listen to a song we made but after that please begin forgetting The Venetia Fair ever existed. If this is quoted somewhere in an article or blog or like maybe you are just telling your friend what we said, you better not say hiatus anywhere or we will be VERY mad! THANK YOU WE ARE SAD KIND OF YOU WERE ALL REALLY NICE TO US SEE YA ROUND OR WHATEVER!!!!!”

NICK TALOS “REWIND”

As we wrap up another incredible year at DIM MAK, we marvel at all the amazing music that has come through New Noise – tracks we’ve been able to push out and share with the world, exposing artists and giving them a proper platform for their sound to be heard.

We wanted to end the year on a high note, and we found that with Nick Talos’ “Rewind.” For his New Noise debut, the Berlin-based producer delivers a low-end deep house number with melodic chords and big grimy baselines. The track has all the powerful qualities that we look for in a New Noise release.

THE CLASSIC KIDS “JUST BEGUN”

Meet The Classic Kids, a supremely infectious foursome with a most appropriate name. Ranging in ages from 21 to 26, Eric James (Bass/Vocals), Matty Boy (Guitar/Vocals), Max Dean (Guitar) and Mikey G (Drums), are, for all intents and purposes, still kids. But, together, they’ve blended retro influences with modern sensibilities to create an undeniably classic sound.

HAYLEY CANNON “WHO ARE YOU?”

An accomplished pianist and violinist, London-based Hayley picked up the keys aged a very young 4 years old. Waiting for the right moment to pen the album she’d spent her life waiting to record, Hayley retreated to the solitude of a French hamlet.

“I was resolved to redress the balance, and get a piece of me back”, she says of that time. First-written was ‘Blood And Bone’, before Hayley returned to London for more writing and recording, involving the ubiquitous creative overnights in the studio. “During that time music was just pouring out of me,and capturing it in the recording studio was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.”

DJ HARRISON “PANTRY”

In this digital age, it’s unusual to find an artist dedicated to embracing a true analog approach. DJ Harrison is from that rare breed, and his new EP ‘Songs From The Black Water’ proves it. Although musically grounded in the modern era, this EP was not made on a laptop, and you won’t find it on Soundcloud (other than a single and teaser), iTunes, Spotify, Beatport or anywhere else as a digital product. The place you will find it is on a cassette, where the authenticity of tape brings out the organic, feel-good vibes of Harrison’s Dilla-esque hip hop soundscapes.

A perfect soundtrack for a round in the boxing ring or a heavy workout in the gym.

EXQUIRE DROPS NEW VIDEO FOR “GOLD MOUTH PIRANHA (SOME WISE QUOTE MY POPS SAID)”

Exquire is a Brooklyn native, a street poet, with natural gift to articulate experiences and emotion in his unfiltered delivery. He has the makings of classic hip-hop that doesn’t conform to trends— he dictates them. He is honest, living what he raps about, that isn’t all about just making words rhyme. EXquire doesn’t sugarcoat his irreverent persona or his life’s experiences. He challenges our ears spitting references to Marcus Garvey, the Iliad, and X-Men from his mouth of gold fronts.
