Didn’t He Ramble continues to receive critical acclaim—NPR Music hails, “The central ingredient remains Hansard’s worn but wonderfully flexible voice, which sounds as kind and expressive as ever, with warmth to match the songs he sings,” while Daily Beast furthers, “Didn’t He Ramble proves Hansard’s songwriting is better than ever. And though it was perhaps a difficult process, the result is arguably some of his best work to date.”

IDLE BLOOM NEW SINGLE

Idle Bloom is a four-piece band that is emboldened through textures. The Nashville based project is composed of Olivia (vocals & guitars), Callan (vocals & guitar), Katie (bass), and Weston (drums). They recently completed their debut E.P, “Some Paranoia”, recorded by Shibby Poole and mastered by Jade Payne. The songs are haunting yet empowering; enticing with lyrics and vocals that demand to be heard and the instruments achieve soothing qualities that, just as poignantly, become jarring.

JUST BIZARRE “DANCE WITH ME”

Biz has collaborated with Chiddy of Chiddy Bang and shared stages with Cyhi The Prynce and Joell Ortiz. Biz calls the new single “a very different kind of record. Subs played me the beat and I immediately fell in love with it. Sonically, it’s not your typical rap record, it’s very wavy and groovy. It’s about when you in the party and you just see that one girl and she’s just glowing. And you’re just thinking to yourself like, “I don’t want to have to sit this song out and pretend to be on my phone. All I want her to do is dance with me because if she does, everything after that will fall into place’.” Biz currently resides in Hackettstown, NJ.

REY PILA PREMIERE VIDEO FOR “FIRE AWAY”

The video featuring Rey Pila fighting an evil alien out to destroy the band and their fans, was directed by Derrick Acosta and Dusty Peterman aka Derek & Dusty, who said, “We loved working with the guys in Rey Pila. We wanted to do a throw back to those early 90’s driving and shooting games from arcades, and pay homage to some of our favorites. We ended up mixing a bit of genre’s together, and we’re happy with the way it all turned out.”

“KEEP IT MOVIN” FREE

“Last year, we were in NYC for a gig and had some time off. We had hit up Tony to say how much we like some tunes he had done. Then we said to him “Lets make a tune like right now, where do you live?” He was like, “Er ok, I live in Brooklyn”. So we got [a] cab down there, got lost, found him and made some beats in his bedroom. Then we were like, “Damn, this beat needs a rapper”, so he called up Rell and said, “Come over.” She was like, “But I have work…” We were like, “F–k that come over.” So she did. We jammed the whole thing in one afternoon, with very limited equipment; we used a mattress as a vocal booth. It was ghetto, but we definitely caught a vibe!”

THE WINTERLINGS’ “WHEN WE WERE YOUNG”

Their debut The Animal Groom had both Paste and Blackbook name them one of the Top 20 artists to see at CMJ Festival 2010. Following U.S. tour dates in support of the album, the band found themselves overjoyed to return home to Seattle to begin work on new music and draw upon the rich natural imagery around them. Birdsall says “a lot of the songs are about being connected to a place, to a piece of land.” She goes on to say “we call our song ideas ‘seeds’ and while lots of ‘seeds’ came to us on the road, it makes sense that they sprouted better once the ground stopped moving beneath us. They needed deep soil and the Northwest rain to grow up into songs.”

SECRET BOYFRIEND NEW SINGLE

A new long-form offering of poignant, isolationist machine music from Secret Boyfriend.

TAELOR GRAY NEW VIDEO

“Scapegoats” is the latest music video from Taelor Gray’s The Mocker and the Monarch album. “Scapegoats” features production by Wit & 42North. The video is directed by Matelli Graves Media.

This is the song that puts everything on the table. The frustration, the hypocrisy, the failure, the pessimism, the boldness, and the awe. What we typically want is someone to take the blame so we don’t have to share in all the consequences. The reality is we all have a part to play in shaping a perception that doesn’t share the full story. We find relief in recognizing where we fall short, and we find liberty in confessing what we’re wrestling with in the meantime.

PAUL WELLER RELEASES NEW VIDEO FOR “THESE CITY STREETS”

Paul Weller has released a brand new video for the track, “These City Streets” from his critically lauded album Saturns Pattern. Weller keyboardist Andy Crofts explains the origin of his elegant visual accompaniment “These City Streets”:

“The video for These City Streets pays homage to the many thousands of lovers who have once walked and embraced on the same streets through time. I originally showed Paul a black and white film I had made, which he loved enough to ask me to make something similar featuring model Tara Griffin and myself and liked the idea of it being like a mini film. It’s filmed in my usual handheld style and I think it’s a beautiful video complementing the song, and where else to film it but Paris (the city of love).”

“ALL NIGHT, ALL NIGHT”

It’s said that the road changes people, and that’s certainly true for Battleme’s Matt Drenik. After touring relentless behind his band’s 2014 record, Future Runs Magnetic, he stowed himself away in his Portland, Oregon basement, a secluded contrast from the weeks spent in front of hungry crowds. Having played massive, guitar-driven rock songs almost every night for months, he began moving in a different direction. He found himself spending more time recording piano ballads demos on his phone instead of his usual distorted show-stoppers.
