BOBBY LONG CALLS ON A CREATIVE TEAM OF FRIENDS TO MAKE “ODE TO THINKING”

When Bobby Long left Wiltshire, the picturesque county of England where he grew up, for university studies in London, he fell in with a tight knit group of young artists who would become his lifelong friends. Together, they survived open auditions and open mic nights, successes and disappointments, forming a strong support system that bolstered their individual pursuits. So when he relocated to New York in 2009 to pursue his music career, it was only natural that he would cultivate another artistic community to fill the void. With the release of his third album called ODE TO THINKING, he has called upon his community of creative friends to lend their collective talents to marketing elements to support the release.

OBERHOFER RELEASES VIDEO FOR “MEMORY REMAINS”

Chronovision features his signature amped psych-pop with orchestral flourish, New Wave flare, and grungy fuzz, but multiplied with his intensity that only time and life’s gut checks can enhance. The road to Chronovision was winding, owing to Oberhofer’s resolve to produce the LP himself and initially taking him from the Catskills to Seattle and back. A final spurt brought him to a studio in his hometown of Tacoma, two NYC facilities (Strange Weather, Electric Lady), and the former Sound City in Los Angeles. Lastly: Atlanta to mix with Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out). Exactly 106 demos later, Oberhofer emerged with these 12 songs.

YOUNG RALPH X FETTY WAP

Preparing for the drop of his most anticipated project to date, I Am Juugman, before year’s end, Atlanta mainstay Yung Ralph has kicked things off with the Fetty Wap-assisted lead single “Act A Fool.” “Fetty holds down the hook with an achy warble… while Ralph swags all over the track in his baritone,” said The FADER in their premiere of the track. The two artists met through close mutual friends and connected immediately. “Me and Fetty met up at Patchwerk Studios in Atlanta to record the song. When we linked we clicked ASAP, just being two humble dudes from the hood,” Yung Ralph explained. “I already had the Yung Lan beat, and he also has a relationship with Yung Lan, so when I pulled up the track we instantly vibe out. He rolled up his Backwoods, I rolled up my Swishers, and there it was – history was made.”
