MUSIC GATEWAY DROPS SOUNDCLOUD
As you know, many of our members belong to organisations such as PRS for Music, BPI, AIM, MPA and more. As well as this our company is partner to most of these major organisations and our opportunity budgets adhere to the minimum session and performance rates, as outlined and set by the Musicians Union in the United Kingdom.
With this in mind we have made the decision to remove the use of SoundCloud from our platform indefinitely whilst PRS for Music and SoundCloud are in dispute.

I am back to work and last week I was at Dollywood filming parts for my new movie “Coat of Many Colors,” which premieres December 10th on NBC. THE PRESSURE KIDS “TIGER”
Coming from all corners of the country with musical backgrounds ranging from soul and gospel to hardcore punk, the members of The Pressure Kids were quickly able to bond over their passion for music and drive to create something innovative and fresh. Just a few short months after meeting as college students in Nashville, TN, the band had solidified a tight five-member lineup and constructed a catalogue of 30+ powerful and vibrant indie rock cuts, nailing down a distinct sonic landscape that falls somewhere between Young The Giant, Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, and Arcade Fire. Made up of a mismatch of friends, roommates, and partners in crime, their debut EP, TIGER, due out fall 2015, is a carefully-assembled collage of here-we-are anthems and love songs to the big bad world. The EP was mixed and produced by Brian Herman who has worked with Vampire Weekend as well as Kanye West. The Pressure Kids recently opened up for Wilco, Cage The Elephant, Bands of Horses, and Weezer at the Pilgrimage Music Festival in Franklin, TN.

SHEER “UNEASY” VIDEO
Sheer out of Simi Valley, CA are premiering a new music video on Noisey. The song is the title track off the band’s forthcoming debut LP, Uneasy.
Lead vocalist Gina tells Noisey the song is “about being around someone (even one you feel the most comfortable around), or being in public and feeling out of place and shameful. You become paranoid and self-conscious about your looks, your body language and general existence and end up being in your own head rather than in the moment. Overall, the song is about a battle with social anxiety that at times seems impossible to overcome.”
PIXEL FIX SINGLE
Following the release of previous EP’s ‘Running Thin’ and ‘Fall’ – their return today finds them in superb form. Embracing the distinctive electronic, and wonderful atmospheric sounds the young band have become recognised for – ‘I Want You the Same’ takes things up to a whole new level.
Speaking on the new single the band have said “‘I Want You The Same’ has been with us for a while, and has taken many different forms over time. It started out as more of a minimal electronic vibe, But when Clem wrote the main guitar line, the song really just went from there. The meaning of the song lyrically is kind of self explanatory in the name. It’s a song about someone changing into a different person, into someone they’re not and not wanting that to happen.”
GRUPO FANTASMA PREMIERES ‘ROTO CORAZON’
A year in the making, the highly anticipated new album from the veteran Austin, Texas based band Grupo Fantasma transcends easy classification, blending international flavors from both far and wide. The sound is contemporary and edgy while also drawing on Latin roots music at its core. Interestingly, Problemas (Problems) manages to sound both familiar (integrating elements of heavy metal, indie rock, funk, hip-hop, jazz) and foreign (African, Eastern European, gypsy, South American, Cuban, Tex-Mex) at the same time, bearing repeated listens that slowly reveal nuances and deeper levels the more you hear it.

TOWN MOUNTAIN DOES THE DEAD
Town Mountain is excited to announce the independent release of Town Mountain: The Dead Session on Friday, November 13, 2015. “Each member of this band has enjoyed the music of the Grateful Dead for quite some time,” says vocalist and guitarist Robert Greer. “It seemed only fitting for Town Mountain to pay respect to some musical heroes in this year, their 50th year of existence.” They recorded an impromptu set of two of their favorite songs from the Grateful Dead’s catalog, “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” and “Big River” at the widely acclaimed Echo Mountain Recording Studios in their hometown of Asheville, NC.
This is the Grateful Dead done in Town Mountain’s hard drivin’ style filled with a honky tonk edge and barroom swagger. The resulting sound is touched by Jerry Garcia with Jimmy Martin and John Hartford… Fitting since Hartford played a short stint in Old and In The Way before Vassar Clements filled out the band on fiddle, and Garcia’s first instrument was a banjo as he was influenced by bluegrass music throughout his career. Narrowing down to just two was not an easy task for Town Mountain.
NATALIE PRASS COVERS SLAYER
“Natalie Prass doesn’t seem like the most obvious candidate to cover Slayer’s classic ‘Raining Blood,’ with its lyrics about a ‘lacerated sky’ and ‘crimson tears.’ Then again, Prass’ self-titled debut—which came out earlier this year—does have its share of harrowing emotional moments, though delivered with a robust horn section instead of a crushing guitar. Prass took the song and made it her own, while also paying tribute to a titan of thrash-metal. Enjoy, though that might not be a strong enough word.” – AV Club

HOME VIDEOS ANCHOR NEW VIDEO FOR “CHANGE THE LOCKS”
Gonzalez wrote the song about taking responsibility for your actions; by “changing your locks” to keep the worst of the way you behave out while only letting the best of you in, and the struggle that that entails. “When that much emotion is felt in a song, it’s difficult to find images that benefit the music. For “Change the Locks,” my old family footage really gave the music a nice lift,” said Gonzalez.

THE STAFFORD BROTHERS RELEASE VIDEO FOR ‘WHEN YOU FEEL THIS’ FEATURING JAY SEAN & RICK ROSS
Matt and Chris Stafford said of the experience, “We’ve been huge fans of Chris Lilley for as far back as we can remember. To see him play us was absolutely classic and were so excited for the release of this video!”
As Chris Lilley explains, “We’ve all listened to a song and drifted off into thinking we are the stars of the music video. So I wanted to take the mundane life of a 30 something dental nurse and see her live out her music video fantasy. And because it’s a daydream I thought it would be fun to bring the dental surgery turtle to life as a rapper. Everyone liked the idea, I got to play all the characters and I had a lot of fun making it.”

Taylor Hicks, the Alabama native who won America’s hearts – and votes – during the fifth season of FOX-TV’s “American Idol,” continues to make his mark on the world – although in a totally different way.
Hicks has become a partner in Saw’s Juke Joint – located in the Birmingham area. One of the most popular restaurants in the region for barbecue, Saw’s story centers around North Carolina native Mike Wilson, aka “Saw.” Earning a degree in Restaurant and Hospitality management from the University of Alabama in 1996, Wilson continued his culinary pursuits at Johnson and Wales University in Vail, Colorado. He began his career at the prestigious Dean & Deluca restaurant in Charlotte, and then moved on to Birmingham, where word of his unique flavor of barbecue began to spread. Wilson opened the original Saw’s BBQ in 2009, and has proven to be so popular that he – and his partners have opened two additional locations in Birmingham – Saw’s Kitchen, and Saw’s Juke Joint, which includes Hicks as a partner.
