SOREN BRYCE STREAMS DEBUT EP EXCLUSIVELY WITH PASTE MAGAZINE
The 18 year old native Texan Soren Bryce grew up listening to her dad’s classic-rock collection. She is a classically trained violinist as well as a self-taught guitar player (along with other instruments including piano, banjo and ukulele). At a young age Soren discovered what she refers to as “pissed-off folk,” such as Ani DiFranco and Ben Howard. Her uncommon maturity is evident as she writes visceral, emotionally intricate songs with beautifully crafted pop melodies. As a self-taught instrumentalist, she wrote her first song on the piano at the age of 7. At the age of 16, she relocated to Los Angeles to focus her energies on writing songs and earning a reputation in the music scene. She since has blossomed into a compelling performer. Soren presents her piano and guitar fueled songwriting in a soulful tone with slight vocal vibrato, an idiosyncratic style that reveals both strength and fragility.

PURE BATHING CULTURE RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR DEBUT SINGLE “PRAY FOR RAIN”
Pure Bathing Culture has shared the video for their new single, “Pray for Rain,” with The FADER today. The clip, directed by Greg Hardes and Jacob Proud for Maverick.NYC, is a meditation on the nature of identity and the duality contained within. The video’s surprisingly dark themes reveal a twist approximately halfway through that complicates the narrative thread. Who turns us on? What do we truly desire? How is that desire reflected back to us?

LIL WAYNE X CHARLIE PUTH
The hip-hop superstar Lil Wayne and chart-topping singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth have teamed up to release their official video for “Nothing But Trouble,” the first single found on the 808 film soundtrack. The soundtrack accompanies a forthcoming acclaimed documentary chronicling the secret history of the Roland TR-808 drum machine from You Know Films, in association with Atlantic Films.
In the video, Charlie Puth croons from a piano while lamenting his troubles with Instagram models while Lil Wayne trades verses. But what you see in the video isn’t always what it appears, with the models turning into cardboard cut-outs, or maybe even a figment of their imagination? The video explores the notion of people putting up a facade on social media, and manages to do so with style.

MIEKE “SLEEPING ALONE”
Here’s Elissa Mielke’s on finding the right situation for her as an artist, and how modeling/acting (here she is starring in The Weeknd’s The Zone) gave her the freedom to make the music she wanted:
“I’ve been in problematic situations with producers and major labels over the last few years; either people tried to take the project in direction that felt artificial, or I had to sign on for a career without creative involvement. I needed to make something honest and raw. Something strange and vulnerable. Something thoughtful and free. Something that was authentic to where I’m at. I’ve played shows for many years, but when I finished university I needed to make money somehow to focus on music. I found out modeling could be a decent part time job, I started modeling and acting part time. Whenever I travel to make music or model, I learn more about myself as an artist. These songs were largely written on these travels- in Tokyo, London, New York, and LA.”

Filmed over one day and evening in Portland Oregon, Minden presents the video from their latest single “Saint,” a precursor to their upcoming full-length out this Fall. As singer Casey Burge explained to Impose Magazine the video, “depicts the fleeting drug-fix nature of belief systems. A young woman searches for an authentic mystical experience, wading through translucent New Age posturing, urban gate-keeping and occult ritual initiation.” Band member and vocalist Lia Gist travels from one band member to the next, in search of a wholly authentic experience through the haze of various intoxicants.
OAK TREE SUITE “LO AMMI”
Oak Tree Suite admit that even they are surprised about the continuous string of achievements and opportunities this last couple of years have bought with them; but the 2014 J Music Award finalists are continuing to cause a stir both on the western coast and abroad.
Two EP’s down, the band that has supported Evermore (2013), RAN (Indonesian Pop Artists, 2011), and written an Original Sound Track for indie film The Right One are busy working on their latest single, ‘Lo Ammi’, due to be released on the 18th of September. Produced and tracked live by James Newhouse at Real2Reel Studios, ‘Lo Ammi’ is the first track that, according to front man Matt Garrod, not only captures Oak Tree Suite’s live sound and energy but also pushes the band to new limits.
SHAKKA “SAY NADA”
London based singer, songwriter, and producer Shakka returns with massive summertime hit ‘Say Nada’ in collaboration with seminal grime artist JME.
Having come up through the London’s urban scene, Shakka has long been an artist’s artist and after receiving a MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer in 2013, the time is now for Shakka to finally break through to the mainstream.
Calling in JME for collaborative duties, ‘Say Nada’ has carnival vibes throughout the rolling beat and brings together grime elements and upbeat vocals for what is a stand out feel good track. Finding the perfect blend of big choruses, rolling guitar riffs and heavy basslines, ‘Say Nada’ is the perfect showcase of Shakka’s talents as a producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.
LAURA PROMISCUO NEW VIDEO
Ms. Laura Promiscuo is an award-winning vocalist, with a warmth and soulful depth in her tone that turns every head when she begins to sing. Currently Laura is releasing her debut pop album, Chasing Down the Dream with Grammy winning producer, Tim Sonnefeld and Milkboy Records on October 4, 2014.
Chasing Down The Dream features eight of Laura’s original songs with soul, folk and classical influences. Two major influences on her musical style is her upbringing in music as a viola player in string orchestras, as well as over 10 years of a disciplined yoga practice, accompanied by a deep fascination with theological and philosophical thought. There are undoubtedly elements of world music influences in several of her tunes, including “Closer To You,” “Water Is Wide” and “Stranger.” Her typical encore song, “Sweet Lovin Boy” is a stripped down performance of her intimate vocals and a freestyle piano accompaniment.

LYRIC MICHELLE X FAT TONY “DIRECTIONS”
Chicago-born, Houston-bred poet and MC Lyric Michelle falls in the class of artists that value making music with substance. For her 2011 debut, she covered J. Cole’s “Lights Please” and has since received our blessings for other thought-provoking songs, “This & That” and “The Motive,” that address meaningless songs and being objectified, respectively.
Yahoo Music is pleased to premiere her latest, “Direction,” a duet with Fat Tony that appears on her upcoming full length “Missdirection”:
