KWAME BINEA SHAKEDOWN NEW VIDEO “LET GO”

New York City-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown has announced the worldwide digital release of their debut single, “Let Go,” for Tuesday, April 7, 2015 via CDbaby.com and all their major digital distribution partners including iTunes and Amazon.com. Binea will be celebrating the single and video release with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on Friday, April 3, 2015. The event will be followed by a sneak preview of the “Let Go” post after-party at the venue.

“Let Go” is a rock/funk/soul song that lyrically invokes and offers an inspired message that the best way to overcome a spurned lover or lingering adversity is to think positive, know when it’s time to move on and just let go. It was co-written and produced by Kwame Binea and guitarist Justin Wilcox for Binea’s indie imprint, Pelopos Entertainment Group. The song also features the rest of the Shakedown band, drummer Medley Shabazz, guitarist Art Vanterpool, bassist Phil Bass, Daron Wright on keyboards, Kengo Yamada on saxophone and Brian Varneke on trumpet. ‘WE ARE KIN 1’ PROMO STREAM

A loose collective but with a distinct aim: to give the artists involved maximum opportunity and artistic freedom. Growing as it has out of an artist agency, Kinphonic will release a wide range of music from a deep pool of talent – some established, some not – but with one common element throughout the roster – high quality.

Giving artists free reign to work in whatever style they wish, the first release ‘We Are Kin Vol 1’ opens with a gorgeous slice of chill from Swiss producer Kredo, working alongside the soulful Songdreamer. The soulful vibe continues (albeit with the addition of a massive dancefloor D&B rush) courtesy of Fox Stevenson and then Rob Gasser featuring Miyoki. The Brig delivers a slamming piece of Electro in typical swashbuckling style before Stereoliez leave you spinning with a the club version of their recent smash Trap freebie. Tisoki drops a massive 100bpm bomb with MC Gravity, Jarvis and Re:Flex collaborate on a massive sci-fi Dubstep cut and then founder member xKore delivers the final blow.

JOHN McCUTCHEON RELEASING JOE HILL’S LAST WILL ON MAY 1

Six-time Grammy™ nominated John McCutcheon has been delighting audiences for over 40 years with his inventive folk music and exceptional storytelling abilities. The late Pete Seeger said that “John McCutcheon is not only one of the best musicians in the USA, but also a great singer, songwriter, and song leader. And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.” Additionally, the late Johnny Cash referred to McCutcheon as “The most impressive instrumentalist I’ve ever heard.” Joe Hill’s Last Will is McCutcheon’s 37th release, possibly his favorite one and the street date for the collection is May 1.

McCutcheon selected “May Day” as the release date as it is the date on which most of the world celebrates Labor Day. 2015 marks the centenary of Swedish-American labor organizer and musician Joe Hill’s death. Hill channeled his experiences into songs — the first written for the American working class. Those songs helped galvanize the union movement, specifically the Industrial Workers of the World — the fabled “Wobblies,” whose activism triggered violent opposition from the wealthy class we now refer to as “the 1 percent.” John wanted to honor Hill’s commitment to music and vision with an album solely dedicated to reinventing Hill’s songs.

Levin’s voice is uplifting as it is surrounded by melodic harmonies that chime in. The resonating acoustic guitars pull the song together, creating a whole new life, whilst adding an enchanting sound to the overall record.

BREAKAGE “FUTURE”

Having revealed album tracks ‘Treading Water’ and the dubby ‘Revelation’, Breakage announces new single ‘Future’; another epic, string-laden UK bass composition also on the LP.

Fans of his previous single with Jess Mills ‘Fighting Fire’ will remember the mood. Though famed within the UK sound system world, James Breakage grew up on dark Country ballads played on his parent’s record player. Little known fact; before his first home-studio drum & bass efforts got snapped up by the legendary label Reinforced, he was a teen metal fan.

PENCIL LUNATIC TAKES ON RIVAL DJS

Artist Brandon Bailey aka “Pencil Lunatic” sets the record straight with his new single and video “Hells Gate”, a straight shot at artists aiming to undermine his brand. With today’s dancehall becoming somewhat of a competitive sport, rival DJs are constantly sparring for their place at the top. With that being said, dancehall is a small arena with few artists competing. Therefore, when Pencil Lunatic was recently met with underhanded jabs by fellow artists Alkaline and Popcaan, he did not hesitate to deliver lyrical shots with his new viral single “Hells Gate”, a response that may have artists thinking twice before calling out the ‘Lunatic’.
