MS MARVELOUS “BODYWORK”

Theodora “Ms Marvelous” Johnson was born July 21st in the south side of Arlington, Virginia. While growing up there, she notes her brother, local band member and R&B singer, Allen “Foots” Shorter as her main influence when it came to the arrangement of music. Other influences in music include Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Missy Elliot, and many more. Janet Jackson performances and the Fly Girls from the former nighttime comedy show, “In Living Color” influenced the performance side of Ms Marvelous. She was also involved with various talent shows from her childhood to adolescent years. She consistently wrote poetry in journals during the hardships of her life, which contributed to the penmanship and unique concepts of her songs.

LOW CUT CONNIE VIDEO

“Shake It Little Tina” is the first single from the Low Cut Connie’s new album Hi Honey, to be released on April 21 on Contender Records. SKEYES “EMPTY MIRRORS” EP STREAM

To finish off their “Very Metal Winter” campaign, Imminence Records’ Pennsylvania progressive metalcore outfit Skeyes has partnered with The Circle Pit to exclusively premiere the band’s label debut. The four track EP, which can be heard HERE, is titled Empty Mirrors and will be released tomorrow while featuring guest vocal spots from The Color Morale’s Garret Rapp and Erra’s Jesse Cash. The Music Business Association (Music Biz) is returning to Boston to host another installment of its Music Startup Academy educational series on March 31 at General Assembly Boston.
