Two of South Africa’s true freedom fighters and renowned musical icons come together to honor twenty years since the start of democracy in South Africa, and the official end of Apartheid. In a collaborative performance with a band, Hugh Masekela and Vusi Mahlasela will pay homage in 20 Years of Freedom: featuring South Africa’s Freedom Songs, including many of their own. While both artists have been like-minded musical comrades at home in South Africa for years and shared the stage on several occasions, this marks their debut tour joining forces together. The dynamic show backed by their 5-piece all-star band features both artists collaborating together on stage for their entire show. Their set will include many of their greatest songs from their respective catalogs.

Willie Watson is preparing to hit the road on the West Coast next week for his first headlining tour there. Following a week of shows on the East Coast including sold out stops in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia, Willie is heading up the West Coast for a number of dates, including shows at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, Seattle’s Tractor Tavern, and Portland’s Doug Fir Lounge. Shaky Knees Festival is proud to announce the 2015 lineup for its third annual music festival happening May 8-10, 2015. The Strokes, The Avett Brothers, Wilco, Pixies, Social Distortion, Ryan Adams, Tame Impala, Old Crow Medicine Show, Neutral Milk Hotel, TV on the Radio, James Blake, and many more will perform on four stages over the course of three days. With the addition of new full-time members, the project forged as SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME — orchestrated by Neurosis’ founding guitarist/vocalist, Scott Kelly — has since taken a new form as simply, THE ROAD HOME.
Neurosis’ keyboard/effects wizard, Noah Landis, has been a part of the project since the creation of SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME’s 2012-released debut album, The Forgiven Ghost In Me, providing baritone guitars and keyboards to the record and on stage. Yet, since his role in the outfit has become much more expansive and significant, in both inception and delivery of the tunes, his place in the lineup has therefore become more permanent. Additionally, renowned singer/songwriter Munly J Munly has joined the group in recent months, helping reshape the band’s sound. An iconic folk/country/gospel multi-instrumentalist who has helped shape the contemporary sound of Denver, Munly is part of several current acts, including his own Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, as well as Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Denver Broncos UK and others, with releases on Smooch Records, Alternative Tentacles and more, in addition to being an awarded author, and so on.

ARCHIS SIGNS TO NETTWERK RECORDS
Nettwerk Records is pleased to announce the signing of ARCHIS, the artistic pairing of singer/songwriter Dia Frampton and Joseph Trapanese, a film composer and conductor known for his collaborations with Daft Punk on the Tron score and M83 on the score for Oblivion, as well as arrangements for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Active Child and Zedd.
Other artists have performed their albums with the backing of a symphonic orchestra, but few have written songs with the sole intent to merge the rich, textured instrumentation of horns and strings to pop vocals. The initial product of this novel concept, a self-titled, six-song EP to be released by Nettwerk Records on February 23, starts off with “Blood,” a declaration of intent for Frampton, who has already experienced a lifetime in the music business, but is finally feeling the personal fulfillment of doing what she wants.
