JENCARLOS CANELA IS ANNOUNCED AS THE FIRST-EVER LATINO ARTIST TO ACTIVATE THE NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL DROP

In recognition of his humanitarian work and his work as a professional singer-songwriter and actor with renowned fame worldwide and as the spokesperson for the refugee resettlement organization known as the International Rescue Committee (IRC), SESAC Latina-affiliated singer-songwriter Jencarlos Canela has been selected to press the button that activates the iconic 60-second ball drop at Times Square on New Year’s Eve 2015.

This ceremony will be seen by millions in Times Square and is to be telecast live around the world.

It’s the first time that a Latino artist has been selected for this honor, and is sure to give Jencarlos Canela exposure to vast new audiences.

In addition to his recognition from IRC, the non-governmental organization that helps people displaced by war, conflict and natural disasters, Jencarlos Canela is also being acknowledged by The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment.
