ENGLAND NATIVE PLANTING HER MUSICAL FLAG IN THE US

Lily Lambert took the risky chance of coming to America to find her place in the ever changing music industry, and she is making it happen. Lily grew up in England and was surrounded by music and the arts. In her own home the sounds of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, classic rock and Motown were the mainstays. Personally, she was influenced by rock legends like The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart. She would soon take all these styles along with folk type music trends which she believes are linked more too Celtic roots and create her own sound.

She soon would embark on her trek to New York and attend The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. There she would study music and voice. The first time she actually sang in front of strangers was in a singing class which was an interesting experience.

“It was the first day of studying at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, so I was in a room full of strangers, and I had to sing for the first time publicly on my own. Before that, I’d only sung in choirs at school. It was definitely a nerve-wracking experience, but thankfully I’ve come a long way since then!”

Lily first studied Law in College before deciding to chase her dream of performing. Yet as she explained she specialized in Entertainment Law which actually prepared her for the business side of the industry. Even though she spends many hours performing she still takes on contracts every now and then.

One of her most memorable performances on stage was for the musical “Into The Woods”. She performed back to back shows for a full year. While she rehearsed for various musicals she somehow found time to put down on paper what would become her debut album “Life Of Lily”. That album would soon receive some welcome accolades. It would be nominated for Folk Artist of the Year by IMEA and would go on to win Folk Album of the Year.

“It was such a surprise but so great! I was nominated for Folk album, song and artist of the year, and went on to win Folk Album of the Year for Life of Lily at the awards just recently. To even be nominated is such an honor, but to win is just amazing. I’m so grateful to everyone who worked so hard on the album and supported me along the way. I think sometimes people don’t realize just how much work goes into being an independent artist, you’re responsible for everything and it can be very overwhelming. It’s such an honor to have all the hard work recognized like this.”

Besides doing what she loves she also had offered her time to her community. She had worked closely with The Young Actors Christmas Charity Outreach. After she graduated from Strasberg she stayed on to work with the Young Actors. Every Christmas they would go out and perform at such places like Children’s Hospitals, Senior Care Facilities and Children’s Homes. Yet she recently has decided to move to L.A. to pursue her music career with more fervor and will unfortunately have to withdraw from the Young Actors. But she hopes to find another outlet like it to offer her talents.

Currently, Lily is moving full force with promoting her debut album “Life Of Lily”. She has just completed a music video for the track “Miss You” off her current album. Lily is looking to hit L.A. running and keep putting forth great music and performances.
