NEW VIDEO BY TELEMAN

Teleman — ‘Tele’, from the Greek for ‘distance’ — are a band you’re invited to, not inundated with. Their sparse, welcoming minimalist synth tones, gentle motorik beats and balloon-light melodies seeped quietly onto the radio last year and hypnotized the alt-pop nation. Their festival sets of 2013 (including Glastonbury and Latitude) drew an attentive, fascinated fanbase who already knew the words to unreleased songs. And their lyrics — stream-of-consciousness character tales and dream imagery — vividly invite your own interpretation.

WIRE: NEW SINGLE BY VISCOUS LIQUID

Hailing from Reading, Viscous Liquid is the outcome of boredom in a dying town. The ‘band’ consists solely of Rhys Williams, a solitary cosmonaut creating a rich sound that encompasses elements of shoegaze, psychedelia, krautrock and dream pop. The resulting concoction is the heady sound of noisy yet melody rich, lo-fi pop songs found on his debut, eponymous EP released in October 2013. His second EP Songs for Jealous Lovers released in March 2014, takes this aesthetic further still, whilst incorporating a more dreamy, surf pop sound.

The Valery Trails Release New Album,   Buffalo Speedway, due out April 29, 2014.

WIRE: NEW ALBUM BY VALERY TRAILS

The collection of songs on Buffalo Speedway werepartially written and inspired by a four-month, 35-state, 17,000 mile road trip exploring the the continental United States; while some were composed and shaped a world away–in the nineties. The band chose to make “Buffalo Speedway” the title track of the album because out of all the songs that one seemed to fit the theme. The band is from Australia, yet composed a rather “American” album; they wanted to reflect that in the title. The songs themselves sound like the nineties mixed with today, including plenty of hooks and thoughtful lyrics for good measure.
