Capitol Record’s own Emeli Sandé is breaking records! Emeli’s February 2012 debut album Our Version of Events was on the chart for a staggering 63 weeks, breaking The Beatles’ Please Please Me album record of 62-consecutive-weeks in the Top 10 set 50 years ago (1963-1964).
Our Version of Events’ sales are fast approaching 2 million in the UK alone (and over 3m worldwide). During those 63 weeks the album has been #1 on 10 separate occasions including both the Christmas and New Year #1s and has spent 47 weeks inside the Top 5. Our Version Of Events was the biggest selling album of 2012, and is, so far, the biggest selling album of 2013 as well.
