BEYONCE PREVIEWS NEW ALBUM ON AOL MUSIC

BRITNEY SPEARS DEBUTS NEW TONGUE-IN-CHEEK VIDEO

Yesterday, Britney Spears debuted her video for “I Wanna Go.”   The clip is creating a lot of buzz for the pop star, who shows her comedic side in it.   The video opens with a press conference where reporters ask outlandish questions before Spears leaves the podium.   She walks out and grabs the butt of an autograph-seeking fan.   Then, she flashes a group of men, and as a cop tries to arrest her, she has her way with him right there on the street and walks away with his handcuffs.   Britney then takes on a group of paparazzi, who we later find out are cyborgs.   The clip also stars Weeds and Half Baked star Guillermo Diaz, who rescues Spears from the paps and takes her on a drive through the desert.      

GAGA UNVEILS CHARITY T-SHIRT

On her Twitter, Lady Gaga unveiled the shirt that she designed to raise money for tsunami relief in Japan.   The pop star has teamed up with Vogue Japan to for the charity effort, and the T will be sold at all Uniqlo locations beginning tomorrow (6/24).   Learn more at Twitter.com/LadyGaga.

P!NK’S DAUGHTER’S FIRST OFFICIAL PHOTO

People magazine has just unveiled the first official photo of P!nk and husband Carey Hart’s newborn daughter, Willow Sage.   It’s an adorable picture of both parents cradling their sleeping baby.   In an article that accompanies the photo, P!nk says she finally understand what people mean when they say life “changes so drastically” after having a child, and that it’s “beautiful.”   The issue hits stands on Friday.

THE VOICE CAUSES LEVINE/LAMBERT DRAMA

Tuesday’s episode of The Voice led to a little bit of drama.   Contestant Nakia performed Adam Lambert’s hit, “Whataya Want From Me,” and afterwards, judge Adam Levine complimented him, while also indirectly insulting Lambert.   Levine said that he was “not familiar” with the song, and that Nakia probably “sang it better than the person that sang it originally.”   This caused many Lambert fans to get angry on Twitter as they came to the former American Idol contestant’s defense. Lambert wrote on Twitter about the whole ordeal, saying that after his next album, Levine will know who he is, and he also thanked his fans for “being protective but it’s all good.”   Read more at HollywoodReporter.com.

NICOLE SCHERZINGER PERFORMS ON FRENCH X FACTOR

Nicole Scherzinger paid a visit to X Factor France on Tuesday night. The U-S X Factor judge performed her song, “Don’t Hold Your Breath,” off her debut solo album, Killer Love.   The track peaked at number 45 on the French charts, as well as maintaining spots on charts throughout Europe.

JESSIE J’S “PRICE TAG” GOES PLATINUM

Jessie J has hit another milestone with her song “Price Tag.”   According to the pop star’s official Twitter page, the tune, which features B.o.B, has just gone platinum in the U-S, crossing the one-million download mark.   This is Jessie’s first platinum single in the U-S.

ADELE FALLS TO NUMBER THREE ON BILLBOARD CHART

Adele has had another very impressive week of sales for her album, 21, but it wasn’t good enough to hold off debuts from both Bad Meets Evil and Jackie Evancho, as she slipped to number three on the Billboard 200 chart.   She still managed to move another 115-thousand copies and has now sold more than 2.3-million in the U-S alone.

KATY PERRY TREATS HER TEAM RIGHT

Katy Perry treats the people on her California Dreams tour well.   According to Us Weekly, after a show earlier in the month in Atlanta, the pop star treated her 21 dancers and crew members to a spa day at a luxury hotel.   Apparently, each person got a facial that cost upwards of 250-bucks, and aromatherapy massages which cost right around that price as well.   Read more at UsMagazine.com.

BAD MEETS EVIL SCORES NUMBER ONE ALBUM

Bad Meets Evil, the duo consisting of Eminem and Royce da 5’9”,   debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with Hell The Sequel selling over 171-thousand copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Eminem previously topped the chart six times as a solo act and twice as part of D12.   He last was on top of the album chart when Recovery spent seven nonconsecutive weeks at the summit last year.

SHAKIRA IS IN ISRAEL

Shakira is in Israel, promoting her global education campaign.   According to the Associated Press, the pop star was on hand to speak at the kick-off of the country’s third annual President’s Conference, and said that Israel was the “perfect place to talk about how urgent it is to invest in education.”   Shakira used bits of Hebrew during her speech and visited the holy site of the Western Wall earlier in the week.

AMY WINEHOUSE FORCED TO PERFORM?

Amy Winehouse had a disastrous performance in Belgrade, Serbia over the weekend, so bad in fact that it led to the rest of her 12-date European tour to be cancelled, but apparently, Amy didn’t want to go on at all.   According to a report in English paper The Sun, a singer for another band on the bill said that “four British bodyguards” actually forced her to go on stage, even though Amy “did not want to and was making a scene trying to escape them.”   Once in front of the microphone, she proceeded to slur her way through a number of songs, including “Valerie” and “Back to Black.” A spokesperson for Winehouse has denied the story.

TRAIN ANNOUNCE WINE RELEASE DATE

Train have officially announced the release of the first wine from their Save Me, Francisco Wine Company.   According to a press release, it’s called Drops of Jupiter Petite Sirah and it will be available beginning on July 18th.   You can buy the wine in select markets and at SaveMeSFWineCo.com.

WIZ KHALIFA GETS CERTIFIED GOLD, GOES ON TOUR

Wiz Khalifa’s debut album, Rolling Papers, has been officially certified gold by the RIAA for sales over 500-thousand units, while his latest single, “Roll Up,” is certified platinum, which means more than one-million people bought it. The rapper is no stranger to success as his 2010 single, “Black and Yellow,” is certified three-times platinum and peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Catch him this summer on his Rolling Papers Tour, covering the U-S through August.

SUBLIME WITH ROME TEAM UP WITH WIZ KHALIFA

Sublime with Rome have teamed up with rapper Wiz Khalifa for their next single, “Can You Feel It.” Fans can preview the song right now on iTunes and get the band’s new album, Yours Truly, on July 12th. Sublime with Rome and 311 kick off the Unity Tour in Bonner Springs, Kansas on July 8th.

MARY J BLIGE AND NICKI MINAJ TEAM UP ON TRACK

A new Mary J Blige track featuring Nicki Minaj leaked online earlier this week. The song, titled “Feel Inside,” is rumored to be the next single off Blige’s forthcoming album, My Life 2: The Journey Continues, which is due out on September 20.

SPECIAL LINKIN PARK PERFORMANCE TO AIR ON MTV ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Fans of Linkin Park can see a special performance from the band this Friday on MTV. In celebration of the release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the channel will broadcast a performance of their latest single, “Iridescent,” which appears on the film’s soundtrack. The band recorded the performance at Red Square in Moscow and fans can see it on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, Vh1 Classic and Palladia at 8:55 PM Eastern on Friday, June 24th.

NEIL YOUNG SAYS HE’S A FAN OF TAYLOR SWIFT

During a recent press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, folk-rocker Neil Young revealed that he’s a fan of country-superstar Taylor Swift. He said, “I like Taylor Swift. I like listening to her. I kind of like watching her respond to all the attacks. I like the ways she’s defining herself. So I keep my eye on it.” Young had a successful career with rock band Buffalo Springfield, but can relate to Taylor since he also released a couple of country albums as a solo artist, including Harvest Moon and Silver & Gold.

ON THIS DAY: NELLY’S “HOT IN HERRE” DEBUTS

“Hot In Herre,” the hit single off Nelly’s second album, Nellyville, began a seven week run at number one on this date in 2002. The music video featured cameos by members of the St. Lunatics and comedian Cedric the Entertainer. The song “Hot in Herre” went on to get a ton of radio play throughout the summer of ‘02.

J COLE ANNOUNCES ALBUM RELEASE DATE & TITLE

North Carolina rapper J Cole has finally announced the release date and title for his highly anticipated debut album. Cole World: The Sideline Story will come out on September 27th via Roc Nation/Sony Music. Cole also said he hopes to drop another mixtape ahead of the project’s release date.

JAGGED EDGE RETURNS TO R&B

After a four-year hiatus, on Tuesday, Jagged Edge dropped their seventh album, The Remedy. The group performed in New York City that night to celebrate the release and to remind fans of their return to the R&B scene. The new album features cameos from Rick Ross and Trina and is available now in stores and online.
